Cabin perfectly equipped, nature very attractive, beach wonderful, lake very good, coffee shop cosy, good coffee and milkshakes, calm. Kangaroos funny, Birds beautiful. Peter, Wendy and staff super friendly and helpful. Peter even drove us to town because we did not have a car. Children were happy. We recommend the place very much!

We were a little concerned when you first made your booking to stay at our park for over a week without a vehicle. Being 20 minutes from town, we felt that it may have been too quiet a place for you. However, we were obviously wrong. You really made a big effort to explore the area going on many bush... More

We just left after camping for 5 nights. What a stunning place, camping in a natural bush setting surrounded by rainforest - amazing, 5 stars. The hosts are lovely and the on site shop and cafe was awesome, with everything you need and then some, plus fantastic coffee, food (those chips are really good! So are the milkshakes!) and service.... More

Thanks for your five star review. Camping under millions of stars, surrounded by the bush and wildlife is generally what our campers like and enjoy. Pleased you liked the milkshakes. We make them in the traditional but simple manner. Heaps of ice cream, icy cold milk and filled to the brim. Our chips are also legendary, but unfortunately we only... More

Our second time to Durras North Camping ground. 5hours from North Sydney. Very pleasant place with the beaches, lagoon, lake and bush. Camping under the very large gums is so peaceful (except when a branch falls.. that can be a bit scary!). It's is so quiet at night. Then about 5AM the birds start chirping.. starting with the kookaburra and... More

Yes, the 5am bird call wake ups are a little different! It is amazing just how noisy the birds can be at that time of the day. A great way to wake up however. Obviously the wildlife is a big drawcard for you (as it is for many others). Yes, the bore water is a little smelly. We do filter... More

I enjoyed my stay and would have definetly been back and recommended it to others if it wasn't for my disappointing experience with the management. Upon my mentioning that the mens showers were too dirty to use last night: The manager proceeded to badger me that it's no good saying something about it now when my experience is already tainted.I... Thanks for taking the time to review and we are sorry that you were disappointed with our service. We clean the amenities block daily and when busy, more frequently. As is it a reasonably large park, we do appreciate any reports of problems with any of our facilities so we can undertake any necessary maintenance or cleaning. The showers do... More

I opted this place only because of Kangaroo Guarantee which was most sought after by my grandson from USA.We were all duly rewarded by scores and scores of Kangaroos of all sizes and mother kangaroos with their Zovies in the tummy pouch. The place maintained passionately by Wendy and Peter is right among nature and very comfortable with family if not... Our Kangaroo Guarantee has never been broken in over 13 years. With so many young Joeys, unlikely to change as well. Pleased to hear you and your grandson enjoyed Durras North and the wildlife so much. I see you only stayed one night which is a shame as two nights would allow to do a couple of bushwalks, go to... I have to start this review with the Kangaroos - so many, so relaxed, so much fun to watch, and did I mention SO many! We really enjoyed our two days at Durras North Holiday Park, mainly for the wildlife which also included beautiful loriqueets, rosellas, parrots, ducks, geese and of course, kangaroos. However our cabin (pelican) was really spacious,... More

Yes, the kangaroos are the major attraction for sure. At the moment, lots of baby kangaroos (Joeys) are being very brave leaving the pouch to explore their immediate surrounds. Great fun watching them. Pleased you mentioned all the birds as well. We are very fortunate to have such a wide range of birdlife - once again, many young ones. Our... More

We were looking for a quick weekend escape so we could kick back and relax at the coast, and found gold in Durras Lake North Holiday Park. The accommodation is affordable and clean, and you get the sense that Peter and Wendy love their park, which is reflected in the accommodation that we stayed in. There is a nice environmental... Thanks for your review Craig. The first time we have been described as being "gold". We agree it is a great way to escape from the grind and relax. Well, mostly relax. The bushwalks are definitely worthwhile doing, so relaxing after a great bushwalk is even better. Thanks again for staying Craig. More

Great natural environment, with numerous kangaroos just lazing around the park. Colourful parrots in abundance and even a goanna making a daily visit around lunch time. It is a well maintained park with a clean ablution block. Close to lake with shallow areas suitable for small children. This is not a luxurious place but it is quiet and relaxed, inspiring... More

"Enjoying the serenity" is a big part of Durras North. The kangaroos are definitely always in relaxation mode and it is always great to see our guests soon adapt to this relaxed way of life. Am pleased you pointed out that we are not luxurious. We have purposely kept the park the way it is. We have found many of... More

We have been making an annual pilgrimage to Durras Lake North for 10 years now. We stay in the lovely retro cottages. They are a delight with the simple amenities you would expect but there is always more - each year you can tell the owners have worked on the cottages - improving the deck or replacing something in the... 10 years of visits to Durras North. Well done! A large portion of our guests have been coming to our park for many years and they also appreciate having the park kept in its original condition. Yes, we have made a few changes over the years but we still try to retain the essential character. It is not for everyone.... More

First thing I'll mention is the kangaroos that are everywhere, just lazing about the place, they really inspired us to do likewise, take it easy and relax on our break. We were also very happy to buy a bag of seeds from the owners and feed the birds (a mixture of king parrots, rainbow lorikeets and rosellas) at the front... More

Hello TassieLad. Great to see you "Loved it". It sounds like you really made the most of Durras North. Kangaroos, parrot, the walks and of course, a cappuccino!
