I think it was my third stay in this hostel. And it was a hit! I called them from airport to check if I can crush for a night and they pulled my contacts and reservation was a matter of a minute. The team is very friendly and my quick stay was great I'm definitely coming back again and recommend... More

The style is quite nice, lofty and modern. They also have nice bar where you can get snacks and drinks. The rooms are clean and ok. Still, I wasn't very impressed. Maybe the staff could have been more friendly and welcoming! I don't like that they charge you for storing your luggage...this should be comlimentary

The cafe and the lobby have a lot of style, the place being a renovated factory. The 4 beds girl dorm I stayed in was confortable and quiet with attached bathroom. Nice kitchen, great movie projection room and lots of chairs and sofas to sit and chat. Only downside is the price but I guess that's aligned with NY prices...

Clean rooms, toilets, showers and public areas, comfortable beds, super friendly staff, no password wifi, 1 subway stop to Manhattan, 21/2 blocks easy walk from subway station....what more could one want for the reasonable prices charged? I loved this place and will be back. Stayed 3 nights in December 2014 in a 4 bed female dorm room. My roommates were... More

Stayed here for 4 nights over Thanksgiving and would definitely stay here again. I was initially worried about the fact that this hostel is in Queens and not in Manhattan but this really was not an issue as the hostel is super close to the subway and the journey in and out of the city didn't take much time at... This was my first time ever staying at a hostel. I was nervous so I booked this place based on the reviews that I read and The Local NYC lived up to the expectation. Everything was clean. Friendly environment, free WiFi, and super easy access to the subway. I enjoyed my short stay there and would consider it again!

Location is good enough. Subway station is only 2 blocks away, and you only need one train to get to Manhattan in about 10 min. The Village and Lower Manhattan are a bit further but still typically just one train, half hour max. You can get to Brooklyn/Williamsburg quickly, too, without having to cross Manhattan first. There are several restaurants... More

Clean rooms, comfy bed, clean bathrooms, friendly staff, free WiFi, affordable, easy to access from the subway, free drink included. Really nothing more you could ask for in a hostel. Best part was that it was clean. Needed to leave early to catch my flight, and the reception staff were very helpful planning when I should leave and how I... More

Rooms are a bit small but each is equipped with an in suite bathroom and shower/power outlet per guest/ and reading lights. Knowledgeable staff, helpfull community board.. relatively priced bar. Area is quiet with metro access nearby. Also found a few decent restaurants and bars within walking distance. My new go to place when visiting NYC

Ahhh I loved this place. I stayed for four nights at the end of October and as soon as I arrived I felt like I was at home! The staff are friendly, the hostel is gorgeous and the view from the rooftop should not be missed by anyone staying here!! I was lucky enough to have wonderful roommates during my... More
