Really an excellent place to stay; immediately adjacent to the Convent, next to markets, taxis and small restaurants, within an easy walk of two VERY good restaurants. Inexpensive, very helpful staff. Hotel restaurant only open for breakfast; parking on the street - but there seems to be police oversight at all times. Attractive grounds; clean pool; hot water. Wifi a... More

This small and lovely hotel is located where you have to be: next to downtown !!! in a very small town like this one and with only the attraction that Pope John II was there to ask for the forgiveness of the indian community because of what the Francisquian catholic community did to all the indians, this is EL LUGAR:... In all of my travels through Mexico, this hotel was easily one of my two favorites. It was, in a word, perfect. Our room was split-level with an immaculately clean bathroom over a large room that overlooked the convent. The room was modern but tasteful with spacious, comfortable beds, air conditioning, and a refrigerator and television. The grounds were stunning... More

We would not normally stay in a hotel this cheap but we wanted to stay in Izamal and the hacienda was closed for private event and this hotel was right in the centre with views directly onto the convent. When we first arrived we were put in a room that was very clean but average and as there was nobody... More

The direct view of the convent, especially at night, makes it a special place. The nice little pool and garden around are just great to chill out after a busy day. Room was comfortable and very clean. Too bad there was no restaurant in the hotel (or was it closed?), as all restaurants in town were closed by 8pm (it... More

Only stayed one night but could have happily stayed for longer. The rooms were very good with air-con & TV. The bathroom was great with the best shower I've ever experienced! The gardens are nice with a reasonable size pool. Breakfast in the garden was very pleasant.

I stayed one night at Rinconada. It was pleasant enough. Not many other guests. The man who checked me in was really nice and the woman who made a served breakfast was great. I watched a lot of Spanish tv because it was too hot to go out parts of the day. No problem. The town was deserted so it... More

We rolled into Izamal without any plan of where to stay, and this was the first place we pulled up to. This hotel is to the right of the back part of the convent, and has a very stately feel. Grounds are beautiful, rooms are very clean and spacious. At night you have wonderful views of the light show/transitioning illumination... More

I live in Cancun and wanted to explore the Yucatan Peninsula, we decided to go to Izamal the yellow city, from Cancun it took us around 9 hours to get there (however we stoped in several places Valladolid, Chichen Itza and Cenote Ik Kill) we arrived to the town which happens to be beautiful and very historical. I have not... More

Location*** Across the street from the Convent, it was right out our window. Lovely town, lovely view. Market and main square & restaurants are just 1 block. Compact facility but certainly adequate. Nice cool pool and rear grounds. Room was spacious and reasonable. Very friendly and helpful staff fellow. We checked four other places, most were a car ride from... More
