Izamal is a lovely town - beautifully renovated and far enough from Cancun to escape the crowds but within easy reach of some of the more popular sites like Chichen Itza . Izamal is not a very big town, so it might not be a big asset, but we enjoyed walking in Izamal with its nice streets with yellow-coloured (colonial) buildings, the innercity Mayan temples and the church. We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. We arrived about 7PM and we looked at the price and it was over our budget. We walked out but we were convinced to stay there. We were given 300 pesos discount off the normal rate of the room. So the next day we also got a discount on the service. It is... More

We found this hotel by chance-it's on the main road-but don't judge it by its appearance. There's a fabulous garden setting behind the unprepossessing facade. The rooms are located in this garden setting. There's a bar and pool which looked nice, but weren't open when we were there (low season).
