Just before Christmas my wife and I stayed for a few days in Hotel Mawimbi, together with our son and daughter in law. We discovered true paradise in Holbox… Our room (Turtle) was small, but so nice with a big comfortable bed, a neat bathroom and shower and a huge terrace with a small seat, a hammock and a large... This hotel is clean, well-run and has beautiful grounds. Anna is especially helpful! And, the hotel has the sweetest little dogs to cheer your stay! The breakfast got a little dreary after the 3rd day (the same items everyday)...But I was thankful to have any offered at all. Our only complaint was potentially out of the hands of the proprietors--the... More

Just returned from a weeks stay. Very nice small boutique hotel on the beach. Staff excellent very friendly without being intrusive. Our room was quite small but clean with a very comfortable bed and nicely decorated. Fabulous to be able to just walk out onto the beach. The beach front restaurant was excellent with good and varied menu. Beach was... More

We stayed at Mawimbi for 4 days in October, which was off-season. The hotel staff is very nice and helpful. Not all of them spoke English but we managed. :) They offer convenient lounges at the beach and have nice breakfast included with simply delicious fruit juices. BUT, there were also some downsides to our trip. In particular we had... More

I stayed at the Mawimbi in December 2013 for two days. I returned in December 2014 for three days and have booked to stay for a week next December. It is truly a paradise where you can relax, enjoy the outdoors, wonderful meals and island hospitality. I have never been to such a tranquil place before and I rave about... More

First of all, I'd like to say I picked this hotel because of tripadvisor reviews and probably all good things you can read about it here are true. Ladies at the reception/reservation are wonderfull, hotel is nicely located, rooms - bug free and basic but with great style, great beach facilities, Having said that, let me tell you about why... By far the most peaceful place on this planet that I've seen. And my wife and I travel a lot inte Caribbean area. The rooms aren't posh, but elegant casual - and ON THE BEACH. Not near the beach, but right smack dab there. The open air cafe/bar has a limited menu but everything on it is good to great.... More

A friend and I stayed for 3 nights in November. This beachfront hotel was as advertised. Beautiful sandy beach, nice palm trees. Staff was very helpful and attentive, but never invasive. The room was clean and bug free. Nice amenity in the bathroom was the long hand held foot sprayer. Hot water was good and beds were comfortable. The water... More

Delightful, small, owner operated hotel - right on the beach. Fun rooms with spacious patios and oblique view of the ocean. Incredible place to relax. Staff very friendly, Francisco at the bar restaurant, Jeevay, and of course Onney one of the owners. Took a kayak tour organized through the hotel that was well worth it. Best of all is getting...
