The hotel is the closest of all from the beach, a 45 secons walk from our room on the ground floor to having our feet in the water. It is a real beachfront hotel! The room and the overall grounds are charming and clean. The hotel is quiet despite being around 5 minutes walk from the center of town. The... More

My credit card was used by someone other than myself within 12 hrs of making the online deposit to stay there at a video game store in New York. Upon arrival, they claimed the could not run a credit card (a new card at this point) for payment and wanted cash. We had not carried $20,000 pesos with us to... More

Dear guest. Thanks a lot for your very delicated opinion. This is almost speechless Why you didnt say anything about that during your stay?. Our personal is very honest, Why you didnt check the security rules of your bank to use your credit card out of your country? Your credit cards didnt work in our hotel, and we give you... More

Excellent location. As soon as you step out of the room you walk on sand, it's literally on the beach. No seaweeds while we were there, just the local fishermen and birds. There was no wifi in our room, but why stay in the room when you can enjoy wifi on the hammock, on the beach? It was worth driving... More

The owner of the hotel is rude and disrespectful with hotel guests. Our towels were in the pool chairs and were picked up by hotel personnel, and both the manager and the owner charged us more than their value for a supposed "stealing" of such towels, and even threatened to open our bags, claiming we had stolen them. We were... More

We loved being right on the beach with a gorgeous view from our large room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect! They offered laundry service that was quick, efficient and a good price. It felt really comfortable and safe. I'd stay a few days longer next time.

We did not stay at this hotel, but ate at the restaurant. Dante took care of us and the Holbox Tacos (shrimp tacos) were incredibly flavorful and I love the Barril cocktail with rum! My wifes chicken sandwich was extremely good. Good service, good foood, and for being on the beach, decent prices. This place gets our recommendation.

Loved the hotel - I would recommend booking through the hotel though so that you can pick your room. We were behind the reception cabana so our ocean view was slightly blocked. Next time I will request a top (3rd) floor room in the main part of the hotel. Also, the beach bar was great, and Dante, who works there,... More

After a week in Playa del Carmen, we took the bus up to Holbox Island. We had booked La Palapa online on the recommendations of a friend who was quite lyrical about the hotel and the island. We totally agree, an absolutely fantastic place to stay at. We would certainly recommend a visit to Holbox with accommodation at La Palapa.... More
