Great to be back at Casa maya, our favourite part is the warmth of the people there and we didn't find Mr Lima at the hotel, instead we found out it had changed admin. The working staff are true jewels, Nabor, Lucas and the cleaning lady are professional yet kind, have great common sense, are genuinely good hosts and exemplary... More

Stayed in a bungalow, good value, great location. There are kitchen facilities, paddle boards and more available to use, but as we were only there one night we never really took advantage of any of these. Pleasant staff, but I don't think much English spoken. I Would stay here again.

If you're considering camping, it might be disappointing, but if you're considering Just save money. This is a good place. It's in front of the beach. All rooms have air conditioning, it includes one bottle of wine and the pressure of water is excelent.

We had the great pleasure of falling upon Casa Maya de Jose Lima this March 2014. Directly on the beautiful beach, our view from the very comfortable room was amazing! New King size bed, large bathroom, community kitchen very well equipped, and communal living room with art books, games, movies and music. The staff kept the place very clean and... More

Walked in off the street, paid $400 pesos a night about $40 for a bungalow with king bed, super clean, not deluxe but right next door to Casa de las Tortugas, with the best restaurant and beach club in Holbox. Cant wait to go back. Used the kayaks for free, they have camping also right on the beach. Nice place... More

Save some money and camp but don't expect a comfortable night or any sleep. Get a room maybe if you can afford. Nice communal lounge with some good books. Showers/toilets outside we're pretty dirty and full of mosquitoes so be prepared to get bitten as you do your stuff! Staff couldn't speak English but helpful as they could be with... More

Who can go wrong with a beachfront property on a limited budget? Casa Maya is a little gem at the right price, for those of us backpacking on a boot strap. It was nice to have a self-catering kitchen although when I was there I was hard pressed just to find a fork or a clean plate! Dishes were in... More

We arrived to Isla Holbox without reservations & lucked out with Hotel Casa Maya de Jose Lima. They also have a hostel about 1/2 a block behind them, so make sure you arrive at the right business. If you prefer to catch your own fish, you can do so, & cook it in the communal kitchen that is fully equipped.... More

We stayed four nights over the New Year's holiday. Our group was myself and my husband, our two children, and my mother. We were on a budget, but were very comfortably accommodated in one room with a double bed, a single bed, and hammocks for the kids. The room was spacious-enough, with plenty of storage room. We appreciated a lot... More

There is a communcal are with TV inside the dorm and a bathroom with two showers, two toilettes and two sinks. The communcal area is very cosy and has a family feel.
