It's not worth the money. Plenty of good casas in the main town. The tour desk was also permanantly shut but laid out as if it was open and when we waited at it thinking it was open the reception staff just stared at us. Weird.
Also beware of a bald white cuban man who prowls the town in a chevy claiming to run a restaurant. He doesn't have a restaurant. He'll serve you a basic meal at his families ranch just outside town and charge you the earth for it.
Try arguing an extortionate bill stuck in the middle of nowhere.
We found a lovely casa in town called CASA NENE and hung out there for a lovely meal and lovely company. more
