We were very privileged to have an entire casa to ourselves during our stay in Vinales. This included a kitchen, living-room, bedroom and porch. The casa was clean and comfortable and we were looked after during our stay by a kind and caring friend of the family who made our breakfasts and cooked us a lovely dinner on arrival. I... More

We were moved to Basita's daughter in law next door. The twin room was very cramped with little storage space, but the en suite was a good size. Sophia was friendly and arranged for us to get a guide for a tour...well worth doing. We also drove to the beach which took about 50 minutes. Sitting on the porch watching... More

We actually stayed at Basitas sons house next door, it was very clean and tidy and in a separate house to theirs within their grounds, they arranged a walking tour around Vinales for us and Jose provided a taxi service on two occasions for us, once to do the tourist trips to caves etc and the following day out to... Really nice, clean place to stay with excellent hosts. We were offered our own separate house behind theirs, with the option of a chef that came in a cooked breakfast and dinner for us. We were offered a tour of Vinales attractions by the owner which was fantastic, despite being the rainy season. Excellent casa.

Very nice hosts, very nice place and fantastic area! We were recommended a horseride up in the mountains and it was great! If I'm ever to be so lucky as to get back to Cuba and Vinales - this is where I'll stay.

Jose picked us up from the Bus stop and we were greater with a smile. We spent 3 nights here and it was a treat for sure. We received a recommendation to have dinner and we ordered fish both nights. The dinners and breakfasts were amazing, yummy juices, coffee and very fresh fish. AC worked well and the room was... More

Where do I start? Perhaps that Basita cooks the best food in Cuba?? Can I tell you about the whole fish dinners we had? Are there words to explain how well this kind lady cooks?? Or perhaps I should tell you about how kind she and her husband are. How it felt like we were staying with family. How they... More

After being recommended by our highly esteemed casa in Habana- we booked to stay at Villa Basita for 2 nights. Basita and Jose are warm and welcoming hosts, the house is in the perfect location to Vinales village and is impeccably clean and comfortable. Instantly we loved the casa and extended our stay in Vinales from 2 nights to 3.... More

This was very comfortable, clean accomodation. Our hosts were hospitable and the man was a taxi-driver who offered and took us to local sightseeing landmarks. We are vegetarians and our hostess provided excellent, tasty food which more than met our needs on both nights of our stay.

We travelled to Cuba in June 2009 and were referred to Basita after staying at La Casa de Ana in Havana. We did not know what to expect, but on arrival Basita's son greeted us at the bus and carried my heavy bag for me to the house. We do not speak Spanish, but were able to get by happily.... More
