My husband and I went to this hotel for our last night in Cuba as a stop off between vinales and Havana after reading in the lonely planet that there were mud baths nearby. We thought mud baths could be a really fun and interesting way of spending our last night there - and they would have been, but apparently the baths have been closed for over a year!
So we ended up in this hotel in the middle of nowhere with absolutely nothing to do. Luckily the hotel has a nice pool so we sat around that all day reading a book, but we are not lounging-by-the pool type of people so soon became bored.
The room wasn’t great, quite uncomfortable and had two small windows up high. The other windows faced onto a passage so could not be opened or people would see all the way in.
I’m sure if the baths had been open it would have been fine as the hotel is laid out nicely, the food ok for Cuba and the BBQ restaurant was in a pleasant setting. But as it was, it was certainly not...
