I stayed here only one night when our flight was cancelled. The airline put us up at the Tropical Winds. It was a good 15 minutes from the airport and in an area that was not close to anything except lower-income housing.

The hotel itself wasn't bad at all. The doors open to the outside, giving it more of a motel feel (I guess that's why they call it an apartment hotel) but it wasn't bad. There wasn't a nice view or any beaches, but it sufficed for the night. The individual rooms were great. We had a separate kitchen, fully stocked with a stove, mini-fridge, microwave and sink, pots, pans, etc. There was a separate living room with a flat-screen tv and satellite. The bedroom also had satellite tv. All of the pay-per-view movies came included free. The bathroom was really big and nice. We had two twin beds in our small but sufficient bedroom. They were quite comfortable.

The hotel has a small pool and a restaurant. We received dinner as part of the airline voucher... more
