Just returned from a weekend here. There was nothing to fault. We paid a little extra for a larger ground floor room which was very good. The food was excellent and the service very friendly and efficient

Staff very helpful and polite, and were attentive to our every need. The food was first class, plentiful and presented extremely well. Also worthy of note; the hotel is dog friendly and dogs are allowed in the bar, if well behaved.

We spent 2 nights in this wonderful family run hotel. We paid slightly more for a larger ground floor room with direct access to a patio garden and entrance from the parking garage at the rear of the hotel. Our room was a good size and pleasantly decorated. The bathroom was spotless and the Duck Island toiletries were a nice... More

We stayed for 3 nights over New Years as a base for Snowdon and other walks: Staff were professional, friendly and very helpful / accommodating. Food was absolutely fantastic, we considered whether we should try somewhere else for an evening and couldn't on the fear of being disappointed. Quality produce, beautifully presented, served hot and great timing in the kitchen... More

Myself and my partner have just returned from a weekend at The Royal Sportsman Hotel, we had a larger double room which had plenty of space. It also had tea (more than one choice) coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. The room was very traditional and had a large bathroom with the normal hotel freebies ie shampoo, coditioner etc. We ate... The Hotel is an old coaching house on the main street in Pothmadog. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The star of the hotel is the chef, we ate from the Classic menu, the meals we ate were hot and cooked to perfection. The Chocolate Tort is to die for. When we return I hope to try the Rosette... If you are looking über chic then this is not for you but if you are looking for a family run, value for money, centrally located hotel to explore the wonders of Snowdonia then stay here. The food certainly rates a mention with an interesting restaurant menu and excellent breakfast choice and good use of local produce. The staff are... More

We really enjoyed a weekend break here, spotless and very cosy little hotel. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped, the staff helpful, warm and friendly. Continental breakfast was included, and was excellent- great range of cereals, fruits, pastrys, drinks, and even toast made from homemade bread! We'll definitely be back.

This hotel undersells itself! Despite warnings of a "small" room and very limited parking we were delighted with the twin room we stayed in, which was larger than many other rooms I have stayed in, and parking was not a problem at all. The only slight negatives were having to check in by 9pm and the food, while nice enough,... More

We have stayed several times before and know of and like the patrons constant desire to improve. We dined in twice and the food quality was very good. The location is very convenient and we love the twon, harbour and steam trains. The only quibble was the poor lighting in our room made it difficult to apply make up in... More
