The Moorings is a very pretty cottage with an interesting garden and wounderfull sea loch views. Andrew the host is very welcoming and friendly and makes your stay very enjoyable. The beds are extremely comfortable the bedding is luxurious. The house is meticulously clean. The breakfasts are nicely cooked and very satisfying, they set you up for the day. [haggis... more

We stayed at The Moorings either side of a few days on Arran. If cleanliness, friendliness, the most comfortable of beds,a hearty breakfast, great views, all topped by a little quirkiness from your host Andrew (garden & house) then when staying in this area this B/B is a must.Other guests we met while staying there all shared the same sentiments. Two couples who booked "on spec"... more

Since our retirement, 16 years ago, we have travelled widely and sampled many Bed and Breakfast establishments from single rooms in cottages to hotels. Overall, with a few exceptions, we have found them satisfactory in terms of the total service they provide. There are a small number who are our first choice in their locality. Into that category comes one... more

From the moment you arrive you can tell you are in for a treat. The house and garden are full to the brim with interesting artefacts. Room and bed very comfortable. Breakfast excellent (good sausages, often the weak link at B&B's). The owner Andrew seemed very concerned that all was well with my wife and myself. Cars are parked in... more

From the time we entered the gate, this beautiful B&B felt magical.....greeted with a wonderful garden full of friendly gnomes, statues of wildlife and bright flowers. Once inside we were made more than welcome by the wonderful host Andrew and shown to our rooms. They were the most comfortable beds ever, with little touches you normally dont receive in hotels/B&B's.... more

I stayed at The Moorings for 2 nights whilst attending a course at Stonefield Castle. Therefore I needed a no-hassle, comfortable place to stay over this time, and Andrew's hospitality exceeded every aspect of this. The beds have already been mentioned - indeed mine was extremely easy to sleep on (!) and meticulous attention has been paid to cleanliness, decor... more

A wonderful view from there and a good place to stay. We ended up staying for two nights, which was not a punishment at all. Andrew without a doubt has... more

We turned up in Tarbert looking for somewhere to stay for the night and knocked on the door of the Moorings. We were only disappointed that we didn't have more time to stay. Its fantastic - very comfortable and friendly. The breakfast was delicious, the view from our window terrific and the bed was incredibly comfortable. If you're visiting the... more

My locum agency booked me in for ten days so I didnt know what to expect. And then me and my wife encountered the most beautiful, tidy and clean B&B we had ever seen travelling thru the world since five years. Andrew the owner creates a familial atmosphere with very individually furnished rooms, equipped with so many lovely details such... more
