Return visit to this welcoming hotel. Beautiful surroundings excellent food. Extremely dog friendly and a well stocked bar with varieties of gin and malt whiskies which need more time to savour. Room was clean and bed very comfortable. We ate in both nights and enjoyed great food. All in all we can't wait to return.

Lovely hotel. Well modernised and a change from the usual. Great location and ideal for an early ferry to the wonderful island of Islay. Surprisingly Fine food with a local flavour. Comfortable and well appointed. That's why I'm booking in again.

My husband and I spent one night there last week as we we're on an early ferry to Islay. Although the hotel was in a great position the room was very small and the bathroom was tiny, luckily none of us are that big but if we had been then we would have had a problem getting into the shower... More

The West Loch Hotel is the most beautiful hotel set in the idillic settings within Argyll, with the most stunning views. We arrived early and given the warmest reception ever. Inside the hotel everything was bright and modern, as with our room, No8, to rear, twin, and very comfortable with the highest quality beds and linen. Breakfast served overlooking a... More

We booked based on the reviews which indicated 4-5's recently, but I feel this is more for food/public area ambience. The room (4) was nicely decorated and clean, with a large shower & bathroom, but was small, the bed was quite soft and unfortunately looked to the rear of the hotel, the wi-fi did not work in the room although... Made very welcome when we turned up at 8.30pm on a Monday evening. Good food and cheerful unobstrusive service. Not made to rush our meal despite being the only people left. Will be back again soon. Great to chat with owners.

5 of us called in for dinner (no reservation) on Monday evening on our way back from the ferry from Islay late on looking for food. On entering I was a little worried that we were rather underdressed for the beautifully decorated interior (we were rather scruffy having just returned from a cycling trip on Islay). We were greeted by... More

We spent two nights here, using the hotel as a stepping stone to catching the Colonsay ferry. Our room was bright and airy and had a view of the loch. Our daughter had a proper bed, as opposed to a fold-up bed, in our room. Our bed was a little lumpy and the bathroom could do with some attention and... More

This was our second visit - enroute to Islay once more. The hotel offers all you need for a 18 hour stop over - and a stay of a few days would be very comfortable. The West Loch welcomes dogs - and those we met on our two visits were certainly role models for some kids! Dinner was rather overshadowed... More

We stopped for a simple lunch. We received a really nice reception. The smoked salmon and prawn sandwich is memorable ! Beautifully presented and generous, together with great taste. The hotel is a gem, nicely appointed and very comfortable. Don't drive past, you will miss a treat. David & Helen
