As a regular business traveller to have found somewhere that is a consistently good is great, and the west loch hotel offers me that. I have stayed 3 times recently and everytime its been really good. Freindyl staff and owners, nice room, fantastic view, and the whisky bar and food are the best in the area

Went for a meal at this super little hotel on the second day of our holiday in Tarbert. We. we were so impressed with the food quality that we booked for three other occasions during our two week stay in the area. All the food ( whether shellfish, meat or fish), was wonderful and the deserts were fantastic. The staff... More

Having visited Argyll & Bute every year for the last 3 years we've found that no trip to this beautiful part of Scotland is complete without a dining experience at the West Loch hotel. We felt very comfortable eating here - the ambiance and friendly nature of the owners as well as their team saw to that. The food is... More

Always love having a meal here. Changed over the years but always happy with the welcome and menu. Set up is great for family's or couples. always a good choice of beer, wine and whisky. We cannot rate the accommodation as never stayed as we stay local at family.

What was intended simply as an overnight stop-over on the way from London to Islay turned out to be an added bonus to our holiday. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable with a great view out over the loch, the public rooms were also very pleasant with lots of original artworks and big pottery. The food was excellent.... More

ate at the West Loch Hotel this afternoon. Service pleasant, attentive and with a smile. For starter I had pulled pork, mash and stornoway black pudding. Main was smoked haddock, prawns, and crushed potatoes in creamy dill sauce. I was driving so unable to sample from an extensive range of malt whiskies. definite recommendation, I will return here

Great location for a stay before going to Islay. Rooms and service are fine, but the restaurant was the biggest surprise. Food was excellent, very delicate and among the best we had on our whole trip in Scotland. Also the bar is a great place to relax.

By the time of our stay at the West Loch, we had been to Paris, southern France, Isle of Wight, Glasgow, and Jura. the smoked haddock we had at West Loch was amazing. On top of that, our room was terrific and the staff was friendly and helpful. This was a terrific find. It is on the bus route and... More

Lovely location with a great little walk over the road and down to the loch. Rooms are pleasant if rather old fashioned and the evening meal in the restaurant was good, as was the nice selection of whiskey to start my holiday off

Stayed here one night 4 years ago on the way to Islay - it's positioned just a short drive from the ferry terminal - and enjoyed it so much that we returned there last month when once again en route to Islay. Friendly welcome, comfortable room, decent reasonably priced food. Next morning was sunny, still and warm, and I had... More
