We stayed 3 nights as part of a large organised group in September and had a fabulous time. Our room was in the newer wing and was clean and comfortable. We were on the ground floor so the magnificent view was a bit obscured by the trees but was still lovely. the walls are a little on the thin side... more

We only spent one night (it was expensive), but it was one of those unique experiences. Our room, with a lake front view, was elegant with a 4 poster bed and a bay window. The castle has large gardens with hiking paths and we enjoyed walking around. The fixed price meal was expensive; we had a lovely meal ordering from... more

We were with a small group, having booked several months earlier. Everyone was extremely helpful before and during the time we spent there. The staff made us welcome and comfortable. Weather was a bit contrary and it prevented us from exploring the grounds more but it didn't stop the enthusiasm. Food was great, well prepared and presented both Dinner and... more

We are literally just back from a fantastic weekend at the Stonefield. The food is superb, the Creme Brulee recommened by Elaine is to die for and id highly recommend it! The staff are extremely polite and nothing is too much trouble. Our room(25) was huge, it had the biggest bed I have ever seen and there was still masses... more

I stayed at Stonefield castle on the weekend of the 19th Sept 09, I had not heard of the hotel before and was not sure what to expect. But I have to say I was completely overwhelmed by the service, food, location, views, room! We could not have asked for a better time! The most impressive aspect is the locations... more

We arrived around 8.30pm on the friday night and recieved a warm welcome from Carolyn at Reception, she showed us to our room and left us feeling confident we could call on her if we needed anything. Our room was lovely, well decorated and very clean. Having been stuck in traffic due to a road accident for a couple of... more

I had the pleasure of staying here for the last 2 nights of my holiday in Scotland and cannot compliment enough the quality of the hotel and more importantly the staff. Driving along the long entrance into the castle creates the expectation of grandeur and it does not disappoint. The location is stunning right on the loch and we took... more

We only stayed for one night but enjoyed it immensely and would return any time. The hotel has been refurbished tastefully and staff (mostly quite young) were all very friendly and professional, particularly one bar/restaurant staff called "Andi". The location is stunning and views from our room and the restaurant were beautiful. There are some lovely shorts walks from the... more

Having viewed various venues in Argyll we knew Stonefield was the one for our wedding as soon as we pulled up outside. It is set in beautiful surroundings with spectacular views of the loch, and the castle itself was perfect for our occasion - full of character yet not overstated. During the run up to our day the general manager,... more

What a joy to come back to this magnificent castle in a magical setting overlooking Loch Fyne. Friendly, courteous staff, and a first rate dinner menu.Amazing value, for the upkeep and refurbishment on a building of this age and size must be mega and one must accept that the views and locations more than compensate for it not being totally... more
