Warm welcome, open fires, super reception rooms, fine dining, garden walks in a great location close to pretty fishing village of Tarbert. Dining room looks over Lough Fyne. Just back from long January weekend and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a break. WiFi due to be upgraded in near future. Number rooms being refurbished.

Firstly I would like to compliment the waiting and bar staff on their friendly demeanour and hospitality. The issue we had was the morning of departure when there was an absence of hot water. After 15 minutes of trying, I rang reception to be told they would look into, and sort it. I checked with my Aunt who was in... More

I do apologize for the lack of hot water yesterday morning. Unfortunately due to the very stormy weather, we were subjected to an overnight power cut which tripped a switch and turned our water heater timer off. When reception were informed my staff reset the timer. I am sure you will understand that the boiler takes time to heat water... More

The hotel is a bit out of the way but makes for a great quiet break. We arrived during a storm at night and the driveway was a bit tricky to maneuver, could do with a few extra signs to direct you to the reception. The room was very comfortable, especially as we were upgraded due to a Wedding Party... More

The hotel looks wonderful from the outside - the facade around the building super impressive. At first it was a bit confusing since the entrance is not very well marked, but once we got inside, we were greeted with Scottish hospitality and a very nice, cosy room. It was four of us and we had three different rooms, each one... More

My husband and I visit Stonefield every January on the £20 pp deal to celebrate our wedding anniversary as we stayed there at the time of our marriage. The staff are very attentive, friendly and pleasant. Nothing is too much trouble and we were very touched by the kind gesture of a bottle of bubbly compliments of the management to... More

Having stayed at this hotel on business many years ago, I looked it up on a price comparison site and found a bargain so my wife and I took a mini trip by ferry to spend the night there. We were not disappointed and had a lovely night at this lovely hotel. It is currently being refurbished but that didn't... More

( I may have submitted this already) As an ex-pat , now living in Alberta, my wife and myself always like to find a new corner of Scotland to get away for a couple of nights. I found this hotel online (Bespoke Hotels) The January sale offer of 20 GBP per person for Bed and Breakfast seemed too good to... More

Third time my wife an I have visited Stonefield Castle and it is so impresive both inside, outside and the best location ever on the banks of loch fyne. If you get the chance to stay here don't hesitate. The accomadation and food are first class. The rooms are getting upgraded and we were lucky to get one number 38,... More

Got a night away for my partners birthday, he had a fantastic time! Food was awesome, staff were extremely friendly and helpful! The hotel is set in a lovely location, only thing that ruined it was the rain so we could not get out to explore! Would defiantly recommend a visit!

Stayed for 3 nights in early Jan. Food was the highlight and the chef should be commended - well he has been with AA rosettes and Hotel Restaurant of the Year 2015! Hotel is in very good state of repair - only tiny points were a bit of paint and sealant needing touched up around bath (room 11), lock on... More
