Stayed here for three nights. The room was very nice and the grounds were amazing to explore. Plus the hotel is a pretty good base for exploring the Argyll region. The food was good as well and we enjoyed dining in the dining room each morning for breakfast. If the sun is shining don't sit right next to the window... More

Stayed here for two nights at the end of a short tour of south west Scotland (15/16th July). We had decided to treat ourselves with a luxury stay at Stonefield Castle. What a disappointment! Yes the hotel is set in lovely grounds with views of Loch Fyne and the public areas are lovely and authentic, which add to the overall... More

Thank you for your review. I am sorry and extremely disappointed that your stay with us did not live up to expectations. We have an ongoing programme of maintenance in a building as old as Stonefield is and I agree that some of the bathrooms are outdated. We have already refurburbished 8 rooms this year and Phase 2 ,which should... More

I had the pleasure of going here on my honeymoon. The hotel is very remote, but that just adds to the charm of the place. Our room was very spacious and the view of the lake was stunning. The surroundings are great if you are into nature and walks. The staff was competent and helpful. In particular Denice at the... More

A beautiful country house retaining many original features, very tastefully furnished and with stunning views. Secluded but only minutes from Tarbert. Room was spacious with a large bathroom, powerful shower and instant hot water. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Several public areas to relax - drawing room, lounge, bar, library, conservatory dining room. Impressed with the wellingtons and rain capes freely... More

We held our wedding there in June 2014 and I could not fault the service we received. All the guests stayed at the hotel and we had a pre-wedding supper in the restaurant and also lunch after the wedding and the food was splendid. The staff were lovely and really helpful. We got married in the library and it was... More

We visited for 3 nights in June for a friends wedding. The hotel and grounds are beautiful with some stunning scenery over the loch. The staff were all polite friendly and attentive. The food was amazing both at the wedding and the breakfast and dinner service in the restaurant. We are already planning a return trip

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell readers about your stay at Stonefield. We love weddings and try to give the bridal couple a day they will never forget but it's their friends, the guests who attend, who really make it special. Haste ye back in the not too distant future More

Was staying for the weekend for a wedding Friday and Saturday night, Room 31 was fantastic, room was obviously recently refurbished, lovely...... Food was basic but i put this down to being a wedding and so many people. My other half was convinced when we drove into the grounds it must be haunted as it reminded him of something out... More

Arrived on the first lovely sunny day after a couple of days travelling. Beautiful setting, grounds are well worth an explore. Toilet seat was broken in the room when we arrived but they did replace it. Room looked clean on the surface but the radiator was disgusting! Full of dirt. Food was ok - nothing amazing. Wouldn't go back again.

I'm so sorry we did not meet your expectations when you stayed with us. We stayed here for a night with out 6 year old and she loved it so much. A castle, tidal beaches to comb through for shells and mussels and a lounge with games. My wife and I enjoyed it too. A basic room ( needs a fan to move air around ) and a very good small in hotel bar... More

The staff are friendly and the old part of the building looks impressive (there's a more modern annexe which looks like it was built about the 1970's and is actually quite ugly and out of place). The view from the dining room is just fantastic, that's the best part of the whole place. The gardens round about are nice to... More

Thank you for your review and for your very positive comments regarding my team and our wonderful location. I am indeed blessed to have both! Please accept my apology for your steak.
