We really enjoyed our stay in this interesting house (building dates from 1500s) which is a quirky structure but has big well decorate comfortable accommodation. Alison and Michael were very helpful and friendly and were always cheerful. The breakfasts consisted of excellent tasty local produce which was very well cooked and presented. Askrigg is a lovely village in a beautiful... More

A very nice guest house situated in a very good location in a nice village. Ideally located to explore the area. Very comfortable and clean with a good breakfast run by two very helpful owners. Good local pubs providing good food.

Spent 4 days in this cute B&B having only 2 rooms. The cottage dates back to early 1600, full of original features yet converted elegantly. The friendly owners ensure the guests wellbeing throughout the stay. Home cooked breakfast options and a tea room by day. Rooms are fully equipped with all amenities and very spacious. The surroundings are idyllic, what... More

Relaxing & welcoming atmosphere- well run B&B, nice touches like fresh milk in the morning outside your door & homemade bread. Tasty breakfasts & packed lunch if you need it. Room 3 (as staying with a dog)-spacious & tastefully decorated with traditional furniture which suits the character of the building. Stairs could be tricky if you're not good on your... More

This was a real find, staying above the local shop in Askrigg which was a great place to start exploring the area. I was made to feel so welcome when I arrived and there is such a wonderful sense of community. Very comfortable bed and the option of 'real' milk was such a refreshing thing to see! Each time I... We have stayed at Sykes House on a number of occasions whilst visiting the Dales, and Askrigg is (we think) the best place to stay - central, very attractive, friendly people and three good pubs! Sykes House is in the centre of the village and is a great place to stay with Michael and Alison being very good hosts. Highly... More

We were enchanted by this lovely old house and found Michael and Alison extremely helpful and friendly in every regard. The room was large and warm, very pleasant, with large windows giving a view across to the church, and there was a proper ensuite bathroom with a large bath with plenty of hot water. The breakfast was excellent, with home-made... More

Syke's house is beautifully decorated and very welcoming to weary walkers. They have a nice village grocery shop & tearoom as well. All conveniently located across from the lovely St Oswald's Church. We will stay again soon!
