We were enchanted by this lovely old house and found Michael and Alison extremely helpful and friendly in every regard. The room was large and warm, very pleasant, with large windows giving a view across to the church, and there was a proper ensuite bathroom with a large bath with plenty of hot water. The breakfast was excellent, with home-made... More

Syke's house is beautifully decorated and very welcoming to weary walkers. They have a nice village grocery shop & tearoom as well. All conveniently located across from the lovely St Oswald's Church. We will stay again soon!

Sykes House is right in the centre of Askrigg, a lovely Dales village with stunning scenery, lots of footpath walks and several good pubs. The room we had was really spacious and beautifully decorated with two armchairs and a comfortable bed. Two windows looked across the square to the church. Our room (room 2) had a bath with a shower... More

Thank you Alison and Michael for your kind and friendly atmosphere. A four days stay and wished to be there even longer. The room is spacious and comfortable. Cleanliness is absolutely first class. Great central location for the best part of the Yorkshire Dales. We will certainly keep fond memories of this.

This is the second time we've stayed at this lovely, friendly and informal B&B. Decent sized comfortable rooms, copious delicious breakfast, lots of tea and very friendly hosts. Also great value and a refreshing change to the many places in the Dales charge high prices for mediocrity. Highly recommended.

We would just like to say a heartfelt "Thank You" to to Michael and Alison for allowing us into their home and for all of their help.. This may seem a little strange to say about a B&B but if you had seen the misserable wet muddy state that the 3 of us ( 2 humans 1 dog) arrived at... More

Very welcoming, clean, charming & the breakfasts are very filling & tasty! Staying with children under 6 they even managed to supply toys & books! The shop has everything you need too at very reasonable prices. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the cakes in the tea room & expert advice on places to see in the area! Thank... More
