My partner rented us a cottage here for five nights. I am seven months' pregnant and we have a two year old little boy as well but we were all very comfortable. There was a very friendly dog at the farm, also a cat, a sheep, some ducks and a few chickens. My son fell in love with the cat... More

I knew in advance that this property was 'quirky' i.e. the bed was separated from the ensuite by a curtain, no problem. It was a small building with one up one down a two seater settee and a small fold up table upstairs. Down the narrow stairs led to 'The bed' a two sectioned divan both sections with a gap... More

Warm welcome and great quiet location. We stayed in the Smithy and it was very comfortable, very good value for money. My only criticism is that it was rather under equipped, it could do with a few more kitchen utensils. However, the farmer's son is on the premises and will provide anything missing. Free range eggs supplied also for free, thanks... More

I've stayed here for a few months for 4 years ever summer, I love it. It's very cute, has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owners are a lovely family and they keep very nice goats on the farm! Great location for Hadrian's wall, access to local transportation and groceries.

The moment we met Sue we knew we were in for a good stay She referred to our cottage as"home" and that's what it felt like. It had just been refurbished and was cosy warm and had everything you would need for your stay, including a superb walk in shower. There are two other cottages with extra bedrooms and we... More

We stayed in Shepherd's Heft Cottage on this lovely farm (there are 5 cottages in all) - it has one double bedroom, a little single room on the landing and another kids room that had a single bed and a bunk bed in it. Very cosy and a lovely wood burning stove in the living area which was safe enough... More

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Hadrian's Wall. Nice place with friendly owners. Lots of space and a wonderful kitchen all to ourselves for meals. The sitting area was nice, with an electric fire and a little library tucked away in the corner. Bed was very comfortable and it was very quiet. There was also a cute kitty... More

Stopped over for one night on the way back from a cousin's up in Tyneside. We stayed in the coach house which had some amazing views and was very comfortable. We weren't disturbed by the sound of traffic nor street lights and it was so peaceful it was unbelievable - could have stayed there a lot longer if it hadn't... More

Myself and my partner stayed in the Wrens Nest which is a tiny cottage more than perfect for a two night stay. Lovely and clean, extremely comfortable bed and well equipped for what we needed. Kettle, toaster, small fridge, microwave and two ring electric hob included. Free wifi and tv also and a two seater sofa. There is no dining... More

We stayed in the Coach House (4 adults, 1 dog) as we were visiting family nearby and planned a trip up Scafell Pike on one day. On arrival, we were greeted by the owners son, who showed us around and explained everything. A lovely warm welcome! Nothing was too much trouble. As the cottage was very reasonably priced, I was...
