A nice converted farm house, complete with a bar and a pool table. If you are hiking Hadrians Wall, the couple will pick you up at the parking lot adjacent to the wall and bring you back the next day. Food was excellent, and dinner is available.

Saughy Rigg is a B& B however in the winter months it can be rented out to self-caterers. This house suits our needs. We are a large family group of 21+ adults with children. The beds are comfortable with good quality linens. All the bedrooms are en-suite which is a blessing with such a large group. There is a good... More

The young couple who run this must have put a lot of time and effort into making it such a comfortable place (based on reviews I read from a few years ago, at least), as it was a lovely stay. Very welcome after a tough, wet, and windy day coming over the Craggs. My friend and I had only enough... More

We stayed two nights at Saughy Rigg as part of our Hadrian's Wall Walk and loved it! Saughy Rigg is located in beautiful countryside and the proprietors will collect you from Steel Rigg in the evening and drop you back in the morning, a service not to be dismissed lightly after tackling the Craggs! We were made to feel very... More

Stopped here whilst hiking hadrian's wall and only disappointment was that we couldn't of stayed here the whole time or for longer. Staff was excellent very welcoming and couldn't do more for you, like staying at a home away from home. Food was delicious not what you would expect from a B&B, even attention to detail on presentation. Wifi was... More

Very welcoming. A little way off Hadrian's Wall Path (about 1 mile), but will pick up and drop off, we were braving out to walk it, but as they drove past they guessed we were on our way to Saughy Rigg Farm, so stopped and asked if we wanted a lift..... we caved in and accepted the lift. There is... More

Shaun and his wife have made this into an extremely welcoming and comfortable establishment. We were picked up from Vindolanda and shown to our spacious room (#8). The first place since starting our walk that had bath towels big enough that you can fully wrap yourself in. Shaun is very entertaining and knowledgeable on all fronts and we covered a... More

This farm is over a mile off the wall which does not matter because the guy that runs it will come and collect you and drop you back which is a great service. The food in the evening and also the breakfast is absolutely lovely. You have a great big lounge to sit in, a lovely bright room to have... More
