We stayed here for our third night of Hadrians Wall. Comfortable room, friendly people and the food was excellent. Eve's pudding was exactly what we needed after the walk! Would recommend the mushroom risotto as a close second behind the Eve's pudding!

We stayed at Saughy Rigg for a family weekend, 14 adults and 14 youngsters between 6 and 16 (plus 2 dogs) and had a great time. We had the whole place to ourselves 11 en suite bedrooms, large sitting room, dining room, bar and pool room and the well equipped kitchen. It was ideal for what we wanted. Rooms varied... More

We stayed one night while hiking Hadrian's Wall, but it would be a great place to spend more time—close to a number of trails, etc. The food was great, the tiny bar very cosy for a post-hike drink, and the staff were very helpful.

I have just returned from a weekend at saughy rigg with 28 others including children for my 40th birthday. We hired the whole bed and breakfast and found the amenities ample. Bedrooms were fab and a good time was had by all. The children loved the trampoline, pool room and the friendly horse. The bar was a bonus too, children... More

We had a two night stop at Saughy Rigg farm. A farm like setting with goats and animals roaming around, people touring the wall and walking the walk were there as company. The staff was great helping us with rides up to the wall and answering questions and such. The food was great and their mini-pub was great for a... More

Spent a night here while walking the Wall. The room, itself, was plain but clean and comfortable, all you really need after a hard day's walk. And they come to the Wall to pick you up if you find that last mile too much to cover. With a cozy bar and an excellent restaurant, Hadrian might have thought to build... More

We hired the full farmhouse as self catering from Friday to Sunday, this was for 36 people to celebrate my husband and I's Silver Wedding Anniversary, our daughters 21st and 18th birthdays. We had family friends from allover the country. Infact our daughter is currently working in Berlin so she had travelled from there for the party and our friends... More

My son and I stayed here for 1 night whilst walking Hadrians Wall, we were welcomed with a large pot of tea, our room was very comfy and clean, with a view of a beautiful horse in the field behind. Dinner was the best of our trip. There was the opportunity of a lift up to the trail in the... More

I stayed here for 3 nights on my recent walking tour of Hadrian's Wall. Friendly and helpful staff, a comfortable room and really nice food, particularly the super breakfasts. A very well appointed lounge and a bar with lots of local beers to try.Everything one could want when arriving back after walking strenuous hillsides. Sean would run you to and... More

We stayed at the neighbouring farm,Gibbs Hill farm, where dinner was no longer available, but an arrangement was made to bus us the couple of miles or so there and back. Not far,but in the dark on poor roads, walking was not a real choice. You arrive in a farm yard to turn the corner and find a brand new glass extension that is... More
