Picked Ashcroft because they had a 'room' that was suitable for a family group of mixed ages (2 adults, teenager, 3-yrs, 3-mnths). What a lucky find! The "apartment " is two en-suite bedrooms with a common living area and kitchen. The house, garden and rooms are all excellently maintained and the quality of the fittings is very high. However, it... More

We stayed only one night in room 6, a lovely triple room overlooking the extensive and beautiful tiered gardens, manicured lawn, and finally, a pasture of sheep. The house was just as lovely as the gardens, well kept and tastefully decorated. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and went out of their way on a couple of occasions to assist... More

We stayed for 3 nights at the Ashcroft Guesthouse and we can't praise it enough. The whole guesthouse was finished to an exceptionally high standard and it looked as if it had just been redecorated. The breakfasts were excellent and our hosts were charming. Thank you Geoff and Christine for a wonderful start to our stay in Northumberland.

Yes this really is the B+B you would specify if you had the chance to design everything for yourself. Don't stay for only one night, or you will kick yourself that you are leaving this wonderful guesthouse so soon. Geoffrey and his wife are the perfect hosts - you feel like a personal friend in their home, yet they give... More

Haltwhistle claims to be the central point of Great Britain: clearly the marketing will have to change if Scotland becomes a separate nation! However, the Ashcroft will still be a class act. The owners are friendly without being over-familiar and the accommodation is top quality, comfortable and relaxing. One of the nice touches which typifies their attention to detail is... More

We had an excellent stay at the Ashcroft Guesthouse. Geoff and Christine are the perfect hosts, the breakfast was of the highest quality and our triple room was exactly what we required. The proximity to Hadrian's Wall, Vindolanda and the Roman Army Museum make this a great location. This is a proper guest house with a friendly welcome.

We have stayed at The Ashcroft several times and cannot recommend it highly enough. The beautifully comfortable bedrooms and the thoughtful finishing touches – fresh milk in the room for tea and coffee together with the chocolates and biscuits on the tea tray, make it a delightful place to visit. Christine and Geoff are friendly hosts who go out of... More

This Guesthouse was quite lovely. After a day traipsing around Hadrian's Wall with our guide, Peter Carney (http://www.hadrianswall-walk.com/) we came back to this guesthouse. It's quite pretty and the owners, Geoff & Christine, were very friendly. The room was nice, very quaint and picturesque. Breakfast the next morning was one of the better ones we had on our trip around... More

We very much enjoyed our stay in the 2-bed apartment of Ashcroft Guest House. We were there for 2 nights to visit Hadrian's Wall, and our family of 4 were made to feel quite at home. Milk, tea, coffee, and biscuits were all provided upon arrival. There was plenty of room in the main living/dining area, and the bedrooms were... More

We stayed at the Ashcroft Guest House for a couple of nights whilst we visited the nearby Hadrian's Wall with our 13 year old grandson. The rooms are available from 4pm, and on ringing the bell we were greeted by Christine who was so nice and helpful and showed us to Room 4. This is a lovely room with a... More
