We recently spent one night at Ashcroft and it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Geoff and Christine warmly welcomed us into their home and did everything possible to make us feel comfortable. Our room (#5) looked over the gardens and was most spacious. The large king bed was comfortable and it was extremely quiet resulting in a great sleep. Breakfast... More

The place is beautiful and spotless. We wish we would have stayed there longer. The owners are friendly and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to visit this part of England

This is a lovely B&B - other hoteliers should visit and take notes. The breakfast was superb and the service was friendly and sincere. The welcome was very warm, and it was made obvious that nothing would be too much trouble.

Very good quality, based on very good attention to detail on the part of the owners. Being a family of 5 it's not always easy to find an economical place to stay, but the 'luxury suite' worked well, and wasn't overly expensive - we were £169 for one night, with the 3 kids in a smallish but comfortable adjoining second... We chose Ashcroft both because of its good location for Hadrian's Wall and because of the good previous reviews. It certainly lived up to both. We received a very warm welcome and were able to choose our bedroom. This must have been one of the largest we have come across! The bed was extremely comfortable and the room had a... More

A wonderful place to stay - welcoming, beautiful, clean and very reasonably priced. Quite possibly the loveliest guest house in England. Amazing breakfast too that offered great variety. Thank you so much!

We stayed at this guest house for 2 nights in September, on arrival we rang the doorbell and introduced ourselves, the lady that was not the owner asked us if we had booked and we said yes and she went to check, the welcoming could have been better as it wasn't that friendly, she showed us to our room which... Wow! What a beautiful building. Huge rooms, very clean, tastefully decorated, first class breakfast with wonderful friendly service. Stopped on the way back from the Isle of Mull and had a quick look at Hadrians wall. The only improvement would be to improve the sound proofing from one ensuite to the next as the automatic fan from next doors bathroom... More

Ideally placed to explore the surrounding countryside including Hadrians Wall. The quality of the accommodation was exceptional. A very wam wecome was had from the owners in beautiful surroundings. And the breakfast was to die for - especially the Kippers! Highly recommended.
