We just finished walking Hadrian's Wall and decided to stay in the area an additional night. At random we ended up reserving a room at the Manor House Inn at Haltwhistle. When we walked in we started to regret our choice, and when shown to our room on the top floor, didn't get much better. Small and very basic. Clothes... More

Stopped on the way back from the Lake District one Sunday afternoon. We ordered Cumberland sausage, peas and mash, and a veggie pasta arrabiata. Complained to the staff, who phoned the manager whose attitude was atrocious. I would not recommend this as a place to eat and cannot fathom out how it attained... More

A short walk from the Ashcroft Guest House. A very pleasant place to eat with good friendly service and a wide menu choice. Food arrived promptly and was delicious. Lots of home made desserts to choose from. Well recommended.

Booked a table of 16 to celebrate a 90th birthday, we had pre ordered as it was valentines evening and we knew they would be busy. Food was excellent and staff could not have been more accommodating. We had the back room to ourselves which is great for small functions, they had no problem with us decorating with balloons and... More
