Having now read the reviews, my thoughts are that the Manor House Inn is clean, comfortable and accommodating. Safe storage for the bikes. The fresh pizza was really good and the salad nicely laid out. Staff couldn't be more helpful. A good stopover for cycling.

we shown to the table and asked if we wanted chicken or beef I assumed this was to get the main course started and when we asked about the starter was told that we hadn't ordered one. the meal arrived can at best be described as average, ordered a couple of drinks one of which was given to someone else... I was after escaping some where, to walk a bit of the Wall and this place cropped up. £ 35 a night ! The room was lovely. ( I stayed for 3 nights in the end!! ) The staff were wanderful, ( thank you Shelly for returning the book and bits I'd left on the bar on the last evening.)... More

This was our first time to this pub, we visited on a Wednesday evening for dinner, following a recommendation , we were very well received, the food was very good value, good quality and well presented, drinks were reasonably priced, all in all a very pleasant experience,at a realistic price, the staff were particularly friendly, nothing was too much trouble,... since the new owners have taken over the manor, I have seen a change in the atmosphere and service that the pub provides not in a good way. the food isn't as good as it use to be and the so called owner is very arrogant which isn't a good sign. the cost of a drink is also a fortune,... More

I stayed here last week with my boyfriend as a getaway that wasn't too far from home. We were not disappointed! The hotel is centrally located in Hadrian's Wall country with easy access to shops and museums. The owner was very friendly and there was a laid-back atmosphere in the bar as we got chatting to a couple of locals.... More

I popped up at the Manor House during a Hadrian's Wall walk, looking for a not too expensive place where I could rest and still be able to reach the Wall path. Bus AD122 calls at the end of the road and stops at Housesteads and Greenhead, perfect for wall walkers. You also have a string of destinations you can... More

If you want access to Hadrian's Wall then Haltwhistle is very convenient. Around the district, the Once Brewed area is (probably) the best for walking this spectacular part of England. The Manor House Inn though, has its drawbacks. Primarily, room size. We had trouble finding somewhere in our room to open our suitcases! Okay, it's budget priced...but really! Otherwise it... More

Booked a room at short notice as availability in town was limited, so just went for it. The Inn is clearly an old building and could probably do with an update in the ground floor areas, parking os okay but might challenge an inexperience parker! My room faced the street so there was a little noice, however, this didnt stop... More
