Great food with good service and friendly cosy pub with a lovely atmosphere. Well worth the visit and we'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended especially for a rather damp May Bank Holiday Sunday.

We popped in on Christmas Day after a long day's walk along the trail, to find that the inn was actually closed. But the kind hosts offered drinks and advice in how to travel onwards, and allowed us to stay with them until transportation had been found. Great hospitality at this friendly place - thank you!

Caught in a rain storm, we ventured into the pub while waiting for a bus. No problems with wet clothes and muddy boots. Good selection on menu but food was average. Food was hot, chips fresh and veg ok. Meat in the game pie was good but it was obviously just heated in microwave. Pastry was tough. Overall not bad.
