Came as a group of three couples needing accomation for a friends wedding. When booking the very helpful owners explained that whilst cottage slept 6 it would not be comfortable for 3 couples but that they could accomadate us all by providing a room next to cottage. This ended up being a perfect solution for the occasion, the cottage had... More

I had a very comfortable night at the Mansion House Hotel, staying in one of the cottages at the rear of the main hotel. The owner, Richard Rickerby,is a very welcoming and helpful man and I was made to feel immediately at home. The room was warm, clean and comfortable, with an ensuite toilet and shower. The hotel itself is... More

Thank you for a lovely welcoming stay. Bent over backwards to make us feel welcome at very short notice, breaking off their day out to rush back and let us in. Comfortable, beautifully decorated en-suite room, with copious coffee/tea etc. Breakfast - plenty of choice of cereals, yoghurts, toast etc. We enjoyed a full English (with proper sausages) - just... We stayed here whilst visiting family in the area and although we were only staying the one night we were made to feel welcome and right at home. The price for the two rooms was very reasonable, we were plesantly surprised by the character of the building and how amazing the rooms were given the cost, one of our rooms... More

Stayed a night in the lodge for one night. The lodges were well finished, comfortable and clean. I grew up in the town and asked the owner to cook some of the local sausages for breakfast which he duly did. The owner is a local business entrepreneur striving to deliver some quality to Holbeach..give him some support. If there's better accommodation... More

We stayed overnight for a family wedding. The service was friendly and our cottage was spacious. Breakfast in the morning was good (three of us were vegetarian and we were well looked after). This is a small family run place and if you prefer the exactness of a Travelodge, this may not be for you - the toliet seat was... More

We stayed with friends for one night on route to some where else. The owners are friendly and relaxed. We both had rooms at the front of the hotel and with it being a hot night we had to leave the windows open which meant we heard all the traffic noise and the noise of people turning out of the... I stayed here for business, and arrived late. The owner stayed up fairly late to meet me and was really helpful. I stayed in owl cottage, it was very spacious and comfortable, like a little home. (if you arrive late check out the pizza/kebab place across the road, the pizza is surprisingly good) I had a good sleep as the... More

To be honest I can understand why some people rate this hotel 1 star and others much higher. This is not a chain hotel with carefully branded room information and monogrammed towels. You don't always have 24 hour service on a carefully positioned reception desk. What you get is clean, friendly and unique. The rooms have character, and all the... More

What a lovely place to stay, nice bespoke rooms done to a high standard and clean. Friendly and welcoming owners (I assume but did not ask). Perfect cooked English breakfast in the morning. Only downside is Holbeach seems to be loosing a lot of shops and pubs, although a great Thai restaurant just up the street on the other side.
