Words absolutely fail me.... I've travelled extensively throughout the world and stayed in all manner of places both basic and five star and I can honestly say I've never stayed somewhere so awful. Quaint?!? Not in the slightest. Definitely shabby and not chic. Clean?!! Bloodstains on spare pillow, grubby feel throughout. Self-catering?!? If you like toast (but dont use breadboard... More

We stayed in the wagon over the valley which was fantastic. The view over the valley stunning to wake up to. We spent each evening sat outside watching the sunset which was Spectacular. The new inn is a unique place which gets you back to nature and slows down the rush of life. Thank you

Twinkling lights, an enchanting tin tabernacle in a garden of wild flowers, glimpses of the Tibetan flags, pretty vintage china, fresh flowers in a vase, mezzanine bed with a comfy mattress, gentle breeze from the chapel window, views through the door, valley views of mountains from the veranda, hand built chairs made by a friend of Daphne's, comfy sofa to... I will keep returning to visit Daphne at New Brilley. I stayed in The Rising Sun in May to recover from putting my beloved dog of 15 years to sleep, and found it very spiritual and soothing. I lay in the open top roll top bath, which sits on the veranda, listening to the birds and the lambs. It's within... More

We spent 3 days in Mother Earth here. It is rustic but stunning. Daphne was incredibly friendly on arrival but from that point on, we had solitude and felt like the only two people in the world! The facilities are great, the hot tub is fun and the wood stove is warm. If you are looking for excitement and rock... More

We stayed in Mother Earth at the New Inn for a weekend and I can honestly say it was the most beautiful, peaceful place I have ever seen. If you're looking for a place to relax and escape from the relentless pace of the world, this is it. Stunning views, an outdoor barrel bath and Daphne, one of the loveliest... More

We've just come back from a wonderful break at New Inn Brilley. Having stayed there before we already knew what beautiful spaces Daphne creates and how much thought and effort goes into making every single guest's stay pleasant. This time around we booked "Angels" - a new addition this year. Angels is a corrugated tin house shaped like an old... More

There's only one world for a stay in the bed and breakfast accommodation on a sunlit early June saturday .....sublime. You enter the gates into the wild but charming garden and have a brief period of bemusement until you realise that you are in a very special place indeed. A 300 year old drovers inn , undesecrated by gentrification, much... More

We picked this because it was an individual place, close to Hay for the festival and was reasonably placed. We stayed in the house and it was a large room, clean with 2 towels each. With the skylight and loose blind you're woken early but it is quiet and the views are pleasant. Bathroom is shared but not busy, hot water... More

Absolutely incredible place, beautiful views and serenity all round. We made the most of just sitting on the porch and admiring the views, and its proximity to Hay and the black mountains. And Daphne is awesome!
