The setting a wonderfully private with views across The Solent..... The Hotel is old and in desperate need of renovation and modernisation however it does have something.... The food in general is good though I did here a few people inquire if the Curry should be served cold!!!! The staff are very helpful though I never saw the same staff... More

Our party of 30 were excellently looked after by the management and staff at The Alverbank? Both food (Sunday Carvery) and service were superb. We would really like to thank all concerned, for making Mum's 80th party, a great day. Thank You. Chris & Alison Halliwell.

I recently attended a wedding at The Alverbank and although I know that the Bride and Groom had the most wonderful day, for us it was marred by what some may call nit picking observations. The venue is not disabled friendly. One of the guests was in a wheel chair and was contiinually bumped about as she was wheeled about... More

I recently attended a wedding at the Alverbank with my disabled mother. The access to the building was a ramp, that then had a lip to the door which meant that we had to 'bump' Mum in order for her to access the building. I know that this is an old building but every doorway had a door bar that... More

We had our sons christening at the Alverbank Country House Hotel on Sunday 21st September 2014. From start to finish our experience has been wonderful. Karen the manager is lovely and gave us lots of guidance and advice on what works for such an event. I found her to be very helpful and nothing was a problem. We opted for... More

My company found this hotel on the internet and wanted me to stay for 3 months. No chance! After one night I couldn't wait to leave. I had to stay three nights. Every night was noisy, a combination of live music, wedding functions and a gurgling saniflo sink in my tiny, tiny room. The whole operation was very amateurish. This... More

We came for a wedding didn't stay as rooms aren't great but the food for the wedding and the service from the staff was of the highest standard, they all worked very hard and made the wedding run smoothly and efficiently. I was most impressed with their standards by all account and their buffet rolls were great :-)

What a beautiful hotel, great staff with a lovely warm welcome, returned after staying in the hotel 3 years ago and it's not changed a bit (and that's the appeal) lovely hotel in a lovely setting and views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. despite their being a party on in the bar in the evening the restaurant... Stayed for 1 night. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast excellent. Staff were exceptionally helpful. The hotel is old & in need of modernisation in the ensuite facilities which were very archaic. I think £95 a night is too expensive for a hotel that looks fantastic on the outside but the rooms are grotty.
