Having dined here on 3 previous occasions as food is good was very very disappointed this time and will now never go back or recommend to anyone!! We live in London where we are used to dining in high end/fine dining restaurants on a regular basis so maybe our expectations are too high however we have never experienced anything like... More

We stayed two nights at the Bildeston Crown and were very impressed by the overall experience. When we got to our room we noticed there was no facilities for making tea or coffee. We were told this was because complimentary tea and coffee were served 24 hours a day on request! However, as we are early risers we requested to... More

Popped in for a drink and ordered a large glass of Shiraz off the wine menu displayed on the bar which had it at £6. Disappointing to be poured a different Shiraz at £9 a glass, without a word from the bar tender. Large wine + Peroni @ £14.50 is top end London prices. Nicely decorated inside on the plus... More

Our room was large, with a powerful shower over bath, and nice elemis toiletries. After a freshen up we went down to the restaurant for dinner. We chose the tasting menu, which was spectacular, and although we were a couple of hours at the table, there was no undue delay in serving each of the six or seven courses. I... More

Old world charm, modern and yet classic menu, great friendly staff. I have stayed here before so expected high standards and was rewarded with exactly that. Room 10 was once the office but has now been converted into a superb room. The sort of room that after a long day teaching only exceptional hotel food can tempt me out of.... More

We had lunch here recently and the food was very good. Quite priciey but good quality and something different for the area. The waitresses were very polite, helpful and attentive. It's a shame about the front of house. They weren't as polished in their service at all. The restaurant is worth a visit - don't be fobbed off with sitting... More

We are Australians who spend a few months every year or two coming back to the same area of Suffolk. Bildeston Crown is one of the treats we look forward to. 5 years ago we got married there - last weekend we had my husband's 70th birthday there. Both involved dinner and most of the guests staying too. Even though... More

We stayed in the Black Fuchsia room at The Crown, the bed is very comfortable, the bath is large and luxurious. The room could not have been cleaner, which I was very impressed with. I did like the décor but I think the room could have had a bit more colour and also a few more cushions on the seating... More

My wife and I stayed here for our 53rd Wedding Anniversary and the buildings are beautiful, with large oak beams and open fireplaces in most Public Rooms and even in our Bedroom ! A great deal of money has been spent by the owner and local farmer, James Buckle, on making sure the Grade Two listed former Coaching Inn is... More

Had lunch here for my partners birthday with her parents, daughter and aunt and uncle. The service, ambiance and food could not be faulted with a reasonable selection of dishes that catered for a cross section of tastes including our young daughter which is often a problem in michelin starred restaurants. Steaks were cooked perfect to order and the fish... More
