I stayed for four nights & found everything first class, even down to the extra touch of a slice of homemade cake on my hospitality tray each day! My bed was very comfortable & breakfast was certainly worth getting up for! Appletree cottage is so close to the centre of Budleigh & the bus route, & for an early morning... More

I recently spent 4 nights at this charming bed and breakfast in the heart of Budleigh Salterton. I loved every minute, and much of this was due to the wonderful hospitality and friendliness of Hilary. My room, Pippin, ( each room named after a variety of apple, cool ), was lovely; warm bright and sunny with stunning views across to... More

I have now got back home from my 6th summer stay in a row at the Appletree. This year there were two of us, and we booked both the Pippin and Russet rooms. Appletree Cottage B & B is excellent value for money. The rooms are well furnished with everything you would want. Breakfast, served from 0800 to 0900 hours... More

Beautiful place, very nice, lovely caring people who look after you (can't express this enough!), lots of choice for breakfast, house has a lot of character, lots of books and decoration. We stayed at three 4/5 star b and bs in three nights, this was the best and the cheapest. Only downside: wifi pretty slow from our room.

Cycling from Exeter to Hull, this was my first and best B&B. For just £35 I got a great room and a fabulously fruity and varied breakfast. All the attention to detail was there (fresh milk, piece of home made cake in the room etc) as well as a friendly welcome. Top of the league stuff

Thank you for your review & we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Hopefully your long bike ride went well. Somewhat warm no doubt!. We do seem to have many more cyclists this year. You mention the £35 fee. We are one of the cheapest if not the cheapest B & B in Budleigh. Many being of a boutique... More

I'm so happy to have found Appletree Cottage, as it's a delightful place to stay. It's very comfortable and spacious, and I was made to feel very welcome with nothing too much trouble. The food was very good and I enjoyed my full English breakfast. I am already looking forward to going back for another stay.

Appletree Cottage is ideally situated, being only minutes from the sea and the High Street. We were greeted on arrival with tea and cake, and made to feel very welcome. The bedroom (Pippin) was very comfortable, and it was not a problem sharing a bathroom and WC. The house is very homely, full of books and interesting objects, which guests... More

Wonderful place to stay which enriches and compliments the feel of Budleigh. Great breakfast experience, peaceful sleeping and a host who only wants to please you. Stay here and you will want to return, as I do. And what's more, the wife agrees! John McCaffery
