We've just returned from a 3 night stay in the bramley room. The room was lovely, very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was always nice with plenty to choice from. The cake that appeared everyday in our room was also very welcoming. We would highly recommend appletree cottage as its brilliant value for money and situated in a central location which... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. it's good to read that you think Appletree Cottage was "value for money". We are one of cheapest B & B's in Budleigh and the Bramley Room is £58 per night for a three night stay or longer. We are hoping to maintain this price for next year. Our location does... More

Cycling from Exeter to Hull, this was my first and best B&B. For just £35 I got a great room and a fabulously fruity and varied breakfast. All the attention to detail was there (fresh milk, piece of home made cake in the room etc) as well as a friendly welcome. Top of the league stuff

Thank you for your review & we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Hopefully your long bike ride went well. Somewhat warm no doubt!. We do seem to have many more cyclists this year. You mention the £35 fee. We are one of the cheapest if not the cheapest B & B in Budleigh. Many being of a boutique... More

I'm so happy to have found Appletree Cottage, as it's a delightful place to stay. It's very comfortable and spacious, and I was made to feel very welcome with nothing too much trouble. The food was very good and I enjoyed my full English breakfast. I am already looking forward to going back for another stay.

Appletree Cottage is ideally situated, being only minutes from the sea and the High Street. We were greeted on arrival with tea and cake, and made to feel very welcome. The bedroom (Pippin) was very comfortable, and it was not a problem sharing a bathroom and WC. The house is very homely, full of books and interesting objects, which guests... More

Wonderful place to stay which enriches and compliments the feel of Budleigh. Great breakfast experience, peaceful sleeping and a host who only wants to please you. Stay here and you will want to return, as I do. And what's more, the wife agrees! John McCaffery

An exceptional B and B, only wish that we could have stayed longer. We stayed in Pippin room, which has lovely views towards Otter head. Beautifully furnished, and very clean. It was great to come back, after a days walking, to relax in comfort [and delicious home made cake!] The breakfasts were superb, and beautifully presented - really the best... More

That you for your lovely review. It makes running a B & B all the more worth while. Budleigh is a good centre for walking sections of the coast, especially as it has a reliable bus link. And of course there are many good walks in and around Budleigh itself. Best wishes Hilary More

Stayed in Russet Room so no stunning sea view like the other two rooms, but two good nights sleep with lovely breakfast. You can tell that the hosts of this B&B take enormous pride and enjoyment in what they do. I love the feel of the place - something that AA stars and Rosettes can't measure. I was with a... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. It is always good to see returning guests. We hope your fishing trip went well. At the moment, there are some 50/60 fishermen lining Budleigh beach each evening as the tide is coming in. With clear blue skies and families barbecuing on the beach it all looks idyllic.... More

Very enjoyable stay at Appletree in Pippin (the front twin room with a view of Otter Head). I've stayed before & will stay again (booked already!). Hilary & Stuart are marvellous hosts offering a relaxing, friendly, congenial atmosphere that so many other B&B's just don't convey. Homely. Warm. Very clean & tidy throughout. Sumptuous breakfast selections to choose from. I... More

We wanted an early break in Budleigh and chose Appletree Cottage after an on line search for Hotels/Bed & Breakfasts. We liked the owner’s description of the accommodation and were impressed by the reviews. We stayed in Bramley, with the private sitting room, which was a great asset at this time of year. We would endorse the many favourable comments... More
