Where do you find a €69 a night hotel that has all you need for a one night's sleep and a decent breakfast? With Hotel de Wereld fully booked we had no choice but to stay at the Hof van Wageningen, equally centrally located. The rooms are former student rooms that have been slightly updated. Our room was clean, bed... More

The rooms are incredibly outdated and the staff is rude. On the day we visited it was 30c. There was no airco and the worker at the front desk seemed offended that we requested a fan. They had no fans and he suggested we open the window... Nothing about this hotel is exceptional; the rooms are almost empty; only bed... More

One of the most depressing, shabby, business hotels I have ever been to. Old and dirty building, not comfortable nor cosy rooms with the shower in the middle. Poor breakfast. And you have to pay when you check-in! Amazing! I would not recommend such a poor experience!

The hotel is located just outside the centre of Wageningen (5 min. walk) on a busy road. The rooms are very basic and really feel like student rooms. The bed was good, the room was clean and the bathroom with shower was very small, although everything worked. However there was a lot of noise from the street and as the... More

I stayed in this "hotel" (loosely described) on Thursday 1st May 2014 as part of a group. The check in was fast and efficient and the lobby area, although slightly dated, gave hope that this hotel would live up to some basic expectations of comfort and style. How wrong I was... On arriving up in my room, after waiting 5... More

To start with the positive part: the restaurant had good dishes and is a Nice place to sit. Looked good. dishes were tastefull. In particular the dessert served and finished at the table. Lovely! Than the rooms: not such a nice beds, small, old furniture and cold. I stayed here a couple of times. One night it was cold outsight... More

The hotel definitely needs some renovations. New carpeting, TV..etc. The staff is exceptionally pleasant! Very helpful, every single one of them. Mind you, there's no room service, nor minibar in rooms. Hygiene- satisfactory.

I'm a bit frustrated with this hotel - It was a bit of a pain to reach (car, plane, train, bus, walk) and it is a Sunday night so the area is completely dead; therefore I'm stuck in the room and it is cold (and not really warming up - even though I managed to work out how to turn... More

In a nutshell: A large hotel, a bit run down (including internet issues), with not much soul & small rooms. The Good: Was booked here for a conference taking place at the hotel, so was very convenient in terms of location (but so would any other place if the conference took place elsewhere). The breakfast buffet was nice. When the... More

This looks like a 5-star hotel from the outside, but functions inside rather as a university hall of residence, perhaps not so surprising given its dependence on the big university in Wageningen and conferences etc. for academics. Academics are probably less demanding than businessmen re their accommodation needs when travelling. I am not an academic. Room was small and I... More
