We stayed at this hotel on the strength of trip advisor reviews and I have to say we were disappointed. Our main reason for staying there was as a base for walking and exploring the north of the island and the location was certainly ideal for that. Took a gamble on this hotel as a stop off place for 2 nights prior to a longer stay in a villa. No regrets, this is a very smart hotel with excellent facilities and in a beautiful location. Recommend you hire a car and enjoy the drive along the mountain roads to Estellenchs, but perhaps not for the less confident... more

Stayed for 4 days at the Maristel in August 2006, and found it an excellent small hotel well worthy of its 4 star rating. The hotel has a lovely open air dining room and small outside pool, together with an excellent indoor spa.
