I had been thinking to stay someday when I saw a photos of this Parador. That was so great!! The decoration of the hotel inside was so amazing. The great view from terrace and room, especially in the morning, the sea was bright and brilliant!! You had better choose the sea side room. We had a very wonderful time in... more

Very nice place. The central area is stunning. It is partially enclosed and is surrounded by parts of the old fortress. It overlooks the harbor. No real restaurant but room service is available and can be served at the place of your choosing including the central area or the area overlooking the harbor. Food was good and quite plentiful. Nice... more

We chose Parador Hondarribia for the location, we needed to return our car, drive over the boarder to France to pick up another car...we were not disappointed with the choice. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful (Miguel) ...he gave us all the information we needed to explore the town (delightful walking place), where to eat what to do. Parador has... more

After touring Spain by car, staying in paradors whenever possible, we flew to Bilbao and rented a car for our drive eastward through the magnificent Basque country, choosing the small fishing village of Hondarribia, rather than the more popular San Sebastian. Our charming room overlooked the ocean. Early each morning we watched people digging for clams when the tide was... more

This property will long remain with me as one of the most unique and amazing places that I've ever stayed. From the water view out of our room, to the interior breakfast area where you literally feel like you're sitting in a castle (because you are!), to the charming town that surrounds it, this hotel is worth it. From what... more

Charles V castle. So beautiful! Do request a room with a view of the sea. Loved this hotel, it was something very special for our 37th anniversay! We had the most wonderful, romantic time. Loved the area, three small towns, all Basque. You can take a five minute boat to Henley in France, which was great, we didn't get to... more

We had room 201. The bed was giant size and the room somewhat too large ! There was one window set into the thick exterior wall which commended views of the water and Hendaye. As this Parador did not have a dining room, we walked down the hill to a small restaurant called Sebastian that served tasty food in pleasant... more

We stayed four nights and had a wonderful experience. We were fortunate enough to have a room in the rear of the building with a spectacular view of the Bay of Biscay. You need to know that rooms 103 to 107 and 203 to 207 have the great views and you should try to secure one of them. From one... more

This place from the outside looks unspectacular, with the walls showing signs of wars-gone-by. We had a gorgeous room with a windown looking out onto the bay. One thing to note, we felt it was haunted. I saw someone in the bathroom upon entering the room for the first time. It was a deep-set bathroom, and there were two reflections... more

Undoubtedly a very impressive building, a nice courtyard and beautiful views from the terrace. Nevertheless the worst night I ever had at a Parador. No restaurant, the bar making no effort to compensate at least a bit. An annoying detail was the silly music everywhere, which makes it impossible to make yourself comfortable in one of the halls and quietly... more
