I'm writing this review on behalf of my mother. She checked in on Monday, staff seemed friendly (ish). Went to her room, it was ok!! Very dated, but good views from the balcony. Thought we would then have a look around the hotel, it has nothing!! On the website it shows pictures of a swimming pool well, as the previous... More

Alcochete is not set up for tourists, but it is a very pleasant village with lots of restaurants to choose from. We selected Hotel Al Foz because it was located close to but not in Lisbon. We liked the fact it was in a foody town and most of all the fact it had a pool. On arrival we were... More

Room and public areas spotlessly clean and well air conditioned. I was given a VERY large room on the first floor which had a balcony. At first I though being at the rear of the hotel a disadvantage as I did not get the afternoon sun, but the big bonus was I got no traffic noise either (rooms at the... More

We stayed here for ten days at the end of February during the two equestrian events at nearby Barocca D'Alva. We were very comfortable. The hotel is quiet and elegant with views across the Tagus from the front. There are quirks: we had to request a hairdryer but it was then ours for the whole stay. Security safes are by... More

I spent 8 days at the Hotel Al Foz in Alcochete. This is a lovely, characteristic village on the other side of the river Tagus, opposite of Lisbon. Public transportation is efficient and several buses get to the Oriente Station every day across the stunning Vasco de Gama Bridge. Restaurants in the area are numerous and inexpensive. The Hotel Al... More

We stayed on the Suite room for 3 nights, and NEVER again! The car park it's really dark; the lift is terribly slow and not leveled when it comes to the car park; the door locks use traditional keys and are weak and hard to insert; the breakfast it's really basic with horrible orange juice; the window inside the room... This little hotel so near and yet so far (across the Vasco de Gama bridge) from Lisbon doesn't seem to get many reviews so I am writing again after a recent 10 day stay. Thank you Sandra, Susannah and the rest for making our stay so comfortable once again. For birding around the south east side of the Tagus estuary... More

I’ve stayed at Alcochete last Friday during my 24 hour stay in Lisbon. The hotel is just 30 minutes driving from the airport (car rental is mandatory) and very convenient if you want to do some shopping at Freeport Outlet (10 minutes’ drive). There are several restaurants and a few bars in the area. Rooms are spacious but a litle... More

but many kilometers away from the capital in feel and atmosphere. In fact this is the only hotel in Alcochete and in relation to the capital city ( itself good value ) is quite a discovery. Decor has interesting echoes of bullfighting, handsome horses and seafaring history. Rooms are spotless and a good size. The ones facing the road are... More

For a small town the hotel was good. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the breakfast. The rooms could you updating. Our bathroom had a cracked tile on the floor and cracked sink. We asked about the pool, which was across the street. It wasn't opened until our last day. We really enjoyed this town and the great history in... More
