It was an amazing place. Peaceful, beautiful and only complaint is that we didn't book for a longer stay. Tinkling fountains, oranges, lemons and that was just on the balcony where we sat for a drink looking across the rolling countryside. Two pools - one on edge of terrace with endless views (no children allowed in pools so peaceful and... More

The perfect place to charge batteries The convent has a perfect location and a fabulous view. The two outdoor pools are highly seductive both for the start of the day (round pool) and for a sunset at sundown (rectangular pool) The treatment provided by the staff is without a doubt a 5 star service and a true business card not... Excellent. We stayed in a suite, which was well equipped. The restaurant was a bit of a disappointment: don't order the lamb en croute. I wasn't able to find any lamb under the crust. Maybe it was there... Because of the thick walls (just under a metre) wifi is restricted to the courtyard.

A converted convent, half way up a steep hill, stunning views, with a strong sense of times past. Courtyards, fountains, peaceful, comfortable , and really cheerful helpful staff. Want to come back. But no wi fi in the bedrooms, which is not realy acceptable in this day and age.

In late December my partner and I spent the night in this beautiful place. The hotel is also a museum of hand painted tiles, azulejos, down every corridor and public space. The grounds near the hotel are nice quiet spaces to enjoy a bit of peace and history. The family that owns this place has transformed what might have fallen... More

The building, tiles, landscape are unmatchable. This place is not to be missed. Citrus trees bursting with ripe fruit in late December. Stylish restaurant, very friendly service there & throughout the hotel. Walk the hallways. It's better than most museums. Our room (super low price, off season) was in an out-building and a bit musty-smelling. But otherwise nice. Also, don't... More

This place is a gem. We read about it in a food and wine article and checked it out. The food was great and the wine was fantastic and at a great price. We practically had the pools to ourselves. I had a little trouble sleeping because I thought there were ghosts.....considering we were steps away from the very old... More

Contrary to opinions expressed on TA we had a very different experience at the convento. We found our suite reeked, whether it was of age, mildew, or the fireplace, it was very unpleasant. We encountered similar smells elsewhere in the convento. The furniture was old and uncomfortable. The room was inhabited by inch and a half long black worms. All... More

The hotel is in a old convent. Third time I stay in this hotel... I love the staff, love the facilities, and love the landscapes. This time the hotel had some new ecological windows, some bathroom were remodelate for better. The breakfast is nice, enough. Meals are ok, but I prefer to go visit some restaurante nearby, so I can... More

This convent hotel was difficult to find but definitely worth it. We arrived late but in time for a late dinner in the cloister. The service was fine and the meal delicious. The next day we explored the historic property and were absolutely delighted by the tiles, the chapel, you name it. Definitely worth getting off the beaten track in... More
