Amazing food (time and time again). The best of norwegian produce, perfectly prepared. A place to come back to for an ever changing set menu. Stay over night and have a fresh farm breakfast to finish of an excellent dining experience (great weekend outing, just an hour south of Oslo)

We stayed at Engø to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I chose this hotel because it seemed cute and charming in the photos, and the restaurant was highly recommended. Engø lived up to the pictures - it was really charming, and the food at the restaurant was amazing! I booked a package which included a 4-course dinner, overnight at the hotel... More

This is a beautiful, quiet and elegant place. Not easy to find, but when you do, it's a taste of peace and holiday that make you went to comeback back. Very good food, the service is superb and the rooms are nice. Yes, it is rather expencive, but you get good quality for the money.

Popular and famous place hidden about 1.5 hours drive from Oslo. You need gps to find it! Idyllic situated and high standard service. Great food. Food is really high class!!! You should visit Engø in summertime where you can stay on the beach and relax with panoramic view and overwhelming service! However the rooms are a bit past-out. Old and... More

Overall: 4 Comments: having a tasty sandwich outside normal hours, in the front yard and in the sun. Reservation: - Location: 3 - hard to find, you would hardly stumble across this place, and just barely seeing the water even if being close to the sea. Being in the cultivated forrest garden is ok too. The sandwich was a bit... More

Engø gård is a charming character property in a location probably best enjoyed in summer. A good reason to come here "out of season" would be the restaurant. We had high expectations for the "Engø døgn" - a stay including afternoon tea, 5 course dinner and breakfast. Afternoon tea as well as breakfast was excellent with an aboundance of choice.... More

I attended a 3 day business conference there last week, and was impressed by all aspects. The site is secluded, with fine sea views and yet a feeling of a cozy compound of a country estate. The overall layout of the place is well conceived - with fine buildings and facilities, including an enclosed swimmng pool, with the grounds dotted... More

My second stay lived up to the expectation from my first stay. Went with two friends to attend Dråper til julematen" - very informative "class" about what wines to choose for Christmas Food. Following the class, we had a five-course dinner with excellent food, that was everything but mainstream. Small, perfect dishes, that tasted heavenly ! Our rooms was in... More

We went to this place by recommendations from friends to have a romantic getaway. We had heard that the kitchen was in a league of its own and we weren't disappointed. We had booked a package that consisted of afternoon tea and a five course meal together with a home made breakfast the following morning. The afternoon tea was very... More

My husband was here for business, and the participants was allowed to bring husbands and wives - lucky me! And what a wonderful surprise and experience! The buildings, the rooms (at least our room), the setting, the service, the gourmet food.... nothing but perfect! And everything was so delicate and nice, really outstanding. Home made jam, home made bread, vegetables... More
