We originally booked one night to follow the cooking course but as soon as we arrived we booked another night. After lots of travelling around we were immediately enchanted by this former monastery. It has lovely gardens in which I relaxed later on with a bottle of wine and finally started the book I'd bought for the trip. It was... More

We stayed in one of the apartments within the monastery. Our apartment was much bigger than expected, we had plenty of space for 4 people, a sit in kitchen and a huge bathroom. Breakfast was also available in the main building - with homemade cake using apples from their own orchard. Typically tuscan it was made with olive oil, a... More

We had wanted to go to the beach and simply relax but changed our minds about the location and chose this fully equipped monastery hidden in the hills of Chianti to remove ourselves from the chaos of life. We were so happy we did. The view on arrival and from our room window was amazing and our room was larger... More

Staying at a 1000 year old monestry was an amazing experience - so quite, superb service, breakfast like never seen before, amazing restaurant at the place etc. And the view and nature around is so beautiful. GO there, you wont regret it....

We stumbled upon the Badia during our two-day drive through Chianti - and it became perhaps the most magical evening of our 10-day trip to Italy. First there is the history - this is a former monastery originating from the 11th century, and its ancient residents were instrumental in developing the grape for Chianti wine. Definitely take the tour through... More

Very tranquil setting no matter what time of year or weather. We happened to be there during the spring and rainy time, but it was amazing nonetheless. Definitely suggest the wine tour and tasting. The restaurant on premises is some of the finest you'll experience in all of Italy! Amazing staff.

My husband and I enjoyed a 2 night package which included the tasting dinner on our first night there. No question about where we would eat on our second night! Absolutely delicious, complemented with wonderful wines. Service at the restaurant was exceptional both evenings. Originally we were going to take the full day we were there to explore the area... My husband and I stayed at Badia a Coltibuono while we were on our honeymoon. This was one of the highlights of our trip - we did the wine tasting, property tour and took the half-day cooking class (which we highly recommend). We also ate each night in the restaurant - delicious! We highly recommend this for couples or families.... More

Three friends stayed in apartment Magnolia for a week in Spring 14. We came to cycle around the beautiful Chianti hills, we were not disappointed and we can't wait until we can return again. Arriving at Badia Coltibuono was a memorable experience. We had survived a daylong and stressful car journey from Albegna along the coastal freeway and thankfully the... More
