My wife and I stayed here for two nights and it was absolutely wonderful. The room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Our host, Carlotta, made us feel like we were at home and we can not say enough nice things about her hospitality. The breakfast was excellent (recommend having it out on the patio under the grapevines if the... More

We arrived after a week of car travelling and this was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The rooms were beautiful & typical European style. We managed to have a relaxing spa in the old wine barrel which was amazing. Overall, this place was amazing. A bit of a drive to anywhere if you're not looking to relax though.... More

We were recommended this accommodation by friends back home and booked to stay. Amazing drive to get there in the middle of the rolling Italian hills, grape vines and olive trees as far as your eyes can see. We were late arriving so a note and key were left for us and we were met by our wonderful host Carlotte... More

Everything was wonderful, especially Carlotta, who made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The only issue we had were the handful of kids who played/yelled/rode bikes outside of our window until 10pm or so (both nights we were there) as we were tired from exploring Chianti all day. Not sure if the kids live in the area or were just... More

It was a nice stone house, we got room on the second floor with a big comfortable bed. The best thing - they use wonderful home perfume Dr. Vranjes - Rosso Nobile, we were so charmed of it so decided to find shop and were lucky to buy it in Montepulciano (originally this fragrances from Florance). Hostes of the hotel... More

A perfect place to stay if you want a quiet and relaxing holiday in Tuscany. Start the morning with a nice breakfast on the private patio, get some advice from the lady of the house Carlotta for wineries, culture or restaurants to try. The Castellare is located very conveniently for day trips by car to Firenze, Siena, Montalcino, Montepulciano, etc.... More

I'd love to be back there with its stone floors & beams. A really romantic room. We were given the option of breakfast in the room but chose to have it on the terrace which was the best thing to do as it was so beautiful. Quirky place, great service, good restaurant across the road.

We arrived here at 2pm soaking wet after walking for five hours in the rain. The hotel is in two halves on opposite sides of the street and we were "upgraded" to a small suite in a converted cellar. The decoration was strange to say the least and showering in half a wine barrel a little odd. But apart from... More

My wife and I and 2 other couples spent a week on a walking holiday in Chianti. We spent one night at this wonderful small hotel (but wished we could have spent more time here). Donatella was very welcoming and helpful and offered us tea or coffee as soon as we arrived. Our bedrooms were very comfortable, spacious and tastefully... More
