There's no doubting the charm of this place but it feels more like a charming B&B rather than any sort of hotel. What lets it down is the disorganized (but always very helpful and well meaning) service. Reception doesn't open till 8.30 am and its not uncommon for no-one to be around. Lunch is dependent on how many guests are... More

We arrived yesterday after, thank goodness, a good drive over from Pisa. It was my first time driving abroad, usually my husband drives but he had forgotten his driving licence. This place is absolutely lovely. If you are looking to completely unwind in a beautiful and peaceful setting in the middle of nowhere, with really helpful and friendly staff, then... More

Spectacular and beautiful castle - but somehow we had the feeling that the owner relied on it too much: restaurant service was gentle but sometimes chaotic. Appartments compared to castle rooms were dark and everything but romantic!!

My wife and I booked the Mona Lisa room in the castle's tower for our honeymoon. Our stay was excellent. The staff we attentive and friendly, and the room and property were well-kept. The food was incredible; we took a cooking class from Mama Anna, which was a lot of fun. The staff had great suggestions for day trips near... More

For total peace and tranquility in pretty surroundings this is a great choice. We stayed in separate apartment from the hotel with kitchen facilities but also lovely to have restaurant available too. Views from the top of the castle are stunning!

Beautiful, beautiful setting. Such an amazing view. It was absolutely worth the trip. The room was beautiful, the pool was a welcome treat, the breakfast was great. But honestly, it's a castle in Tuscany with a stunning view. It's amazing!

Finding the Castle takes a bit of effort, but it is worth it. Once you make it up the long dirt driveway it feels like entering your own private world. We stayed on the top floor which had 360 degrees of incredible views. It is a lot of stairs but if you can make it one more floor the rooftop... More

We stayed for 3 nights at Castello di Tornano and wished it could have been more! The rooms were lovely and decorated in a timeless manner, with the castle oozing charm and history. The swimming pool was a fabulous experience (although chilly!) swimming in the old moat. However, the best part was the food, served in a casual and friendly... More

We have just returned from 5 nights staying at Castello di Tornano and had the most amazing time. We booked through Secret Escapes and our trip included flights, car hire and a mini cookery class with Momma Anna which was great fun. The staff were amazing, giving fabulous advice about where to go and how to get there, the food... More

We stayed in one of the apartments and had an incredible time, great balcony overlooking Tuscany. The staff was wonderful, Claudia and Goreprete could not have been more accommodating. The pool and grounds were spotless. The breakfast was great! There is a winery/restaurant in an old abbey near by that was worth the 15 min. drive. Would definitely go back.
