We left Castello di Spaltenna this morning after three magical nights in room 31. We were welcomed at the desk and were lucky enough to have our room ready as we arrived quite early. We immediately fell in love with the room. We had a lovely balcony and the bathroom had just been renovated over the winter. We had a... More

This was the most incredible place to stay in Tuscany. It was great quality and centrally located to some of the oldest vineyards in Italy. Everyone was super sweet and accommodating! I would go back in a heartbeat!

My girlfriend and I visited Castello di Spaltenna in April 2014. We had an unfortunate incident in Rome the day earlier where our car was robbed and all of our luggage had been stolen; we called the hotel (about 3 hours away) and said we would be a little late, and with basically nothing on us.. (we were devastated by... More

The hotel is in a converted 10th Century monastery and has the highest level of service and comfort. The rooms are comfortable and have wonderful views. The buildings are surrounded by the vineyard and olive tree groves. There is a complete fitness and spa treatment center along with indoor and outdoor pools. The dining room offers gourmet meals and there... More

We stayed 4 nights at this beautiful hotel - 3 couples escaping from the kids (who in all honesty probably wouldnt have enjoyed the hotel as much as we did). From the moment we arrived, greeted by at least 4 staff, we were so well looked after. The hotel is a converted monastery and many of the old features remain... More

My husband and I adored Castello di Spaltenna. It a heavenly place for relaxing and enjoying the Chianti region. The rooms are rustic but very comfortable - ours had a pretty view of the vineyard and courtyard. Delicious breakfast is served on the back terrace overlooking the breathtaking mountains and vineyards, a sea of green and golden hues with bursts... More

Fantastic hotel: location is great to visit the Chianti region to enjoy the delicious wines. And food of course. But, if you don't want to, you do not have to leave the Castello: rooms, terrace, bar, restaurant, wellness, swimming pool (both inside and out), faboulous garden and of course the workshop where you can watch the artist paint plates among... We stayed at Castello di Spaltenna for 5 nights and it was amazing! In fact, I was sad to go. We traveled with our 2 children and had room 22-family suite on the first floor. We enjoyed the breathtaking views from the bedroom, breakfasts and cocktails on the peaceful terrace and a delicious dinner in the restaurant each evening. The... More

This countryside castle stunned us with it's beauty and charm. The surrounding vineyards, gardens, castles perched on nearby hills all were as though placed perfectly for our honeymoon. We were there at harvest and the weather was perfect as was the attention to detail, food, and service. Well worth the drive!!
