This was the second time we visited the family run Gherardini winery/farm at Sant' Appiano and we were not disappointed. Two years ago we stumbled upon the place and were very pleased with the small winery. The wine tasting lunch was intimate and absolutely delicious. All the food is homemade and family recipes. The lasagna is one the best I... More

I went to Sant'Appiano farm for a wine tasting with light lunch: it is a cozy winery next to a beautiful village (btw, the church is very old and worth a visit). We had an incredible meal, authentic flavors of Tuscan appetizers, pasta with mama's style bolognese sauce, meat with some salad and almond biscotti with sweet wine. It might... More

Incredible setting to spend a few days - the apartment we stayed in was well kitted out with loads of space and a beautiful view over the toscana countryside right on the doorstep. You absolutely need a car to stay here as the village is tiny, but if you have one you will be rewarded with a proper tuscan escape... More

Our limo driver was nice enough to bring us to a family owned winery. Upon calling, the owner wiped us up lunch fresh from her garden with the BEST lasagna I have ever tasted. We did not stay at the resort, simply came to taste the wines and have a great lunch. We spent a fortune shipping wine home after... More

My husband and I stayed with Barbara in an apartment in September 2012. We loved it! The apartment suited our needs with a small kitchen for quick meal or morning coffee. We stayed for two weeks and used the apartment as our home base as we traveled the countryside and stayed in Sorrento for a couple days, Firenze and the... More

My wife, daughter and I spent 3 nights at this lovely farmhouse/winery. It's situated half way between Florence and Siena and we could see San Gimignano across the valley from our room. Barbara was a very accommodating hostess and gave a nice little tour/wine tasting. Some excellent restaurants nearby. A great spot for the Tuscany experience.

This place is paradise, looking over the Tuscan countryside holds the most stunning view from the apartment. We didn't realise how remote the apartment would be so when we arrived without a hire car the owners pointed out there is nothing within walking distance and then we're more than helpful in helping get a car for 5 days. The wine... More

We prearranged transportation with Sant'Appiano to pick us up at the train station in Florence. From the moment we met "David" we knew this would be our best experience in Italy. For a very fair price, David drove us to the fattoria and spoke excellent English to talk about the scenery around us. Our apartment was very clean and well... More

My mother, teen-aged son and I stayed here for several days in August. (I have nothing similar to compare it to, since I'd never stayed in an agriturismo before.) After a cramped triple room in Rome, we wanted an apartment with two bedrooms. Because our plans were finalized a little late, other places that I'd been looking at were fully... More
