We spent two nights at Tarantola at the end of a two-week trip to Sicily with friends. Although the place is somewhat remote and requires to-ing and fro-ing through the congested streets of Alcamo town to visit neighboring sights, it is definitely worth the effort. We were amazed by the excellent multi-course dinners--simple home cooking at its best, with the... More

We stayed at Tarantola for a few nights in March and were very happy with our choice. The agriturismo, while isolated among rolling hills, vineyards, and olive trees, is in a convenient location in between Palermo, Erice, Marsala, Selinunte, and other attractions in western Sicily. We easily did day trips each day, returning in time for a hearty, tasty, fresh... More

We stayed in Scopello and were planning on a day of snorkeling, but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. Instead we had a great afternoon of cooking lessons and enjoyed the Sicilian specialties we prepared in an elaborate lunch on the terrace. Count Fillipo was very charming.

A welcome respite from frenetic Palermo. We visited late in the season so only a few other visitors besides ourselves. Dinner that evening a feast of four courses complemented by a bottle of their own red wine. Breakfast rather a disappointment though, comprised on bits of toast, juice and coffee - being a farm we expected something a bit more... More

Beautiful countryside location, we had a fantastic evening enjoying sunset over the vineyard with a glass of wine. The dinner was one of the, if not the, best dinner we had in Sicily. Wonderful homemade food. The rooms are simple but comfortable and very clean. If you are looking for 5 star all inclusive hotel, this is not the place... More

We loved our stay at the agriturismo. The hospitality provided by Filippo and his team is excellent. The food is cooked to perfection and is clearly made with local produce. I really enjoyed the conversations with Rino (I think) over what ingredients were in each dish. Their chickpea fritters are to die for, as is their digestif made from very... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Tarantola. Filippo, Rino and Guiseppe were all super friendly and welcoming and the food and wine is exceptional. The property is simply beautiful, the perfect place to go to relax, you feel as though you are a million miles from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the world. I definitely recommend a... More

We stayed for a number of nights and were treated to very good food and hospitality. The agroturismo is in a beautiful location with rolling fields and the occasional farm animal. In the evening we were treated to the chefs bringing the food out for us to eat and, having established that we also enjoyed cooking, discussing how the dishes... More

We loved our 4 night stay at Tarantola. As others have stated it is difficult to find but once there it is incredible. The vineyards surrounding the farm and the gardens are so peaceful that one is content to just hang out and enjoy it all. Fillipo makes everyone feel at home. We looked forward everynight to the amazing food... More
