I stayed in Sicily for a whole week. A spectacular trip with spectacular food, people and places. To be honest, this was the worst place we went to. The drive in was unmarked and we were close to turning around because there was only one sign. Although the farm was moderately nice it was not even close to the most... More

This restaurant was a major disappointment of our wonderful Sicily trip and quite a shame since the food is great. This farm, hard to reach, served some pedestrian foods, including forgettable pasta with specks of veal, store-bought sausages, iceberg lettuce salad in a land of rugula, hard and tasteful fruits, and undistinguished wine. For the price, you can eat better... More

A serious Gap Between Fake and real Food This person was the worst person of all the wonderful people who visit our Sicily. Unfortunately when people have the palate packed with flavor enhancers, use for daily meals frozen raw materials, no longer able to distinguish genuine food from what you normally eat every day. Those who eat fake food is... More

It's quite difficult to describe Tarantola. As the owner Filippo Testa (a Count no less, but clearly a man who loves people) says himself, this is not a luxury hotel. There is no swimming pool, there are no DVD players, no televisions, no wifi in the rooms (thank the lord). The rooms are plain, comfortable, clean. But I challenge anyone... More

Its location is such that it is equal distances from all the main attractions of the region but actually close to nothing at all. A serene setting amongst the vineyards. The room was efficiently furnished, but essentially a concrete box with no shading. Air conditioning was good. The host was interesting and his staff were very keen. The food at... More

Agriturismo Tarantola is a must if you are visiting Sicily. It is a blissful retreat in stunningly beautiful surroundings owned by Conti Filippo who is a very friendly and charming host. The cooking class is definitely worth doing especially considering that you get to eat the gorgeous Sicilian food accompanied by Filippo's excellent wines. I wish I was on the... More

The stay we had at Agriturismo Tarantola was the highlight of our trip to West Sicily. I was travelling with my parents and they had a villa set up for us very close to the main house, in the middle of a vineyard. We did a cooking course with the in-house chef and with the help of the charismatic owner(who... More

I came to Tarantola for vacation after some difficult work related life issues came up and I have to say, I have never been to a more beautiful setting to completely relax and rejuvenate. The staff and owner make you feel like you are a part of their family and the chef cooked absolutely delicious meals every single night. If... More

We stayed with Filippo (and Barbara, Saverio and Lucrezia) last week and stayed in their apartment that accommodated my husband, me, and my 8 and 5 year old daughter. It was so beautiful, relaxing, and fun for all four of us. We did a horseback ride (not on trail because of age of our kids), cooking class, day trips to... More

We stayed two nights at Tarantola. Fillipo is a wonderful host and guide. We walked for miles around the vineyards in the early morning and the views were spectacular. Close to Alcamo and ah hour or so to Erice, Trapani and even closed to Castlemare o. Golfo, the location for a farm stay is great. We had dinner both evenings... More

We had a wonderful stay at the farm!! Beautiful setting, great food and amazing hosts. We brought our kids and they had a wonderful time running around the farm. The rooms were fine but really the setting is what you are there for and it is totally worth it. If you go you should definitely stay for the dinner!! We... More
