We stayed here in a "relax" room in the hotel's second building for three nights. The room had no view other than over roof tops but it was peaceful, clean and well furnished. The bathroom was almost the same size as the room with a huge "Jacuzzi" whirlpool bath and separate shower cubicle with massage sprays. There was a small... More

Just spent three nights at this delightful family-owned hotel, which is an excellent place from which to visit the Valley of Noto during the day and to relax in the evening. Beautiful and stylish rooms, everything spotlessly clean, and very friendly and obliging staff. Good restaurant and also a trattoria attached to the hotel, also excellent recommendations from reception about... More

The hotel is situated in Modica Alta. Without satnav it would have been fairly difficult to find at the top of the hill. Upon arrival a staff member came out to take the car to the hotel garage which we had arranged before arrival. Check in process was quick and we were shown to our room. It was on the... More

The Palazzo Failla is in Modica Alta, the high town, so is a 15 minute walk away from the town proper, via steep steps. Having said that, the town is definitely worth the visit and is really spectacular. There are a couple of restaurants close to the hotel but both are expensive and much better value is to be had... Great service from staff and a hotel that knows how to take care of visitors.location is good in Modica Alta and is relatively quiet and local. Two restaurants service the hotel and both are very good. This is a small hotel but it has a boutique feel about it with people who know what their visitors want. Highly recommend!

We spent four nights in the amazing corner suite at Palazzo Failla. It would be hard to find a room of such size and atmosphere anywhere in Italy for the same price. The hotel is located in Modica Alta and while a steep walk of about 15 minutes up from the main centre of Modica, we liked the location as... More

It's a really beautiful hotel (feels like a stately home!) in a nice location, but we had an unfortunate incident that slightly spoiled the experience and shouldn't really happen in a four star hotel. We returned from dinner just before midnight to a very warm room, and discovered that our air con wasn't working. Unfortunately, the hotel had left one... More

The hotel is located in a baroque palazzo and is personally run by Signore Failla and family. We had two rooms and spent two nights at the hotel. There was great disparity in the size and decor of both rooms. While most old buildings like Palazzo Failla present a challenge when it comes to offering consistent features and comfort, one... More

what a wonderful hotel, what wonderful staff, what a great location. and the restaurant is fantastic, too. i cannot say enough good things about this hotel. we stayed for a few days while visiting southeastern sicily. it was a great location as a base. the room that we stayed in was amazing...a corner master bedroom that was indeed the 'jewel'... We have just completed a driving tour of the Baroque towns of eastern Sicily, spending two nights in Syracuse/Ortygia, and one night in Noto, Pozzallo, Modica, Ragusa/Ibla, Piazza Armerina, and Catania - eight nights, and seven different hotels (23-30 April 2014). Our party comprised two adult couples (residents respectively of London and Paris) with exacting, metropolitan tastes. By general consent,... More
