This hotel has it all: The room was magical--high frescoed ceilings; beautiful antique furniture; tall shuttered windows with balconies, lovely tile floor. And the lobby and various public sitting areas are equally charming. The food was fabulous--breakfast is the best we had in Italy--fresh breads, local cheeses and salamis, fresh fruit, great cappuccino and always treats from the adjoining café.... More

Let me tell you first of all about these people. On the day I arrived, Signore Failla himself came down to the bus stop in Modica Bassa to pick up my luggage and me (otherwise it would have been a 300+ step climb or a 10 euro taxi). When I emerged from my room around 4pm after a much-needed kip,... More

This is a wonderful hotel with an incredible atmosphere located in a nicely rebuilt palazzo in the heart of Modica Alta. The staff is very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our time there very much. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and of very good quality. The same applies to the restaurant belonging to the hotel.

Glad we picked palazzo failla. It is up a hill at the top of the town near the Duomo, a walk up stairs (10 mins) from the town centre but perfect once you've seen the chocolate shops and want a quiet evening base. There is a great restaurant next door (Locanda Colonello), a cafe pastry shop on site and a... More

We had booked the hotel package (sweet dream) with a superior double room for two nights but what a surprise they upgraded us to an executive double room. The hotel was nice and elegant and it was located on Modica Alta which you should take many steps but its worth for such exercise. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable... More

My friend and I stayed for three nights. The palazzo oozes charm as do those who run it. Elegant rooms with modern bathrooms. More antiques than you can shake a stick at, This is as much a home as a hotel. Very helpful information on sights and where to eat and a car service ( no charge ) to the... More

The primary building is an old elegant family castle in very nice area close to Cathedral, restaurants, etc. We found discounted rate through Expedia but when arriving were taken 2 blocks away to another property, down small alleyway, on top of restaurant. Room/bed was fine, wifi went on and off entire time although they tried to fix it. Fortunately, our... More

Absolutely fabulous stay! Teeming with old world charm, Hotel Palazzo Failla came well recommended and my wife and I were not disappointed. Our room was quite spacious and clean; fantastic staff - very friendly and accommodating, prompt, attentive to our needs. We felt welcome from the moment we stepped in. The complementary breakfast had everything we want to start the... More

This is one of the most enjoyable stays I've ever had in a hotel. From the first contact where the staff took our bags out of our car and then drove our car to the parking area, we knew this was a hotel with Old World and Old School charm. In the best possible way. Our room was huge with... More
