From the moment you enter you are made to feel welcome. The girls at reception could not have been more helpful or cheery, advice on parking the car, help with baggage and even suggesting the possiblity of a multi-lingual tour of the town. The hotel is delightfully faded splendour, elegant, timeless, huge high ceilings, giant doors, antique furniture. Bathroom was... More

This fabulous hotel is located at Modica Alta, which means a steep walk down the hill to the main part of the old town. That fact is counter balanced by superb views down the valley. The room was spacious with antique furniture and all the usual features of a luxury hotel. Staff were very helpful and went out of their... More

Really lovely hotel in Modica with a great sicilian feel. We had the junior suite with 2 balconies- perfect for people watching in the evenings! Laura and Julia at Reception were so helpful booking taxis and restaurant reservations for us. Fantastic breakfast - lots of choice, and even gorgeous tiramisu if you want. (we did!) locanda colonello and gazza ladra... More

We arrived on Friday the 3rd of October and were welcomed by the lovely staff with great friendliness. I actually was not feeling great with my stomach and the very nice gentleman at the bar, which is right next to the entrance, promptly made a "canarino" (water boiled with lemon zest) to soothe my pain. Once back at the hall,... More

We had a fantastic stay at this gem of a hotel in Modica. The staff was extremely helpful, the breakfast (included in the room rate) was excellent in their fine dining room, and our room (in the annex just down the street) was spacious and clean. It is a short walk to the Belvedere overlook of the city, and the... More

People on reception and the two men who serve breakfast, park cars etc. all really excellent. Make you feel at home. Large room in a small palace is a reasonable description of our room. Overlooking a street with lots of traffic during the day but very little at night - so quiet. Bathroom OK. Location excellent - few minutes walk... More

I had been to Modica once before, but last time I stayed in Modica Bassa. This time I stayed at the relaxing Palazzo Failla in Modica Alta, which felt more like staying in someone's house than a hotel. In fact, the family who owns it also operates it themselves, so it's a very personal experience. Especially on the upper floors,... More

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night only. The lady on reception was excellent and very attentive- we were helped with our luggage, parking, and given the low down on what Modica had to offer. We were in an 85euro room which had a balcony- (no view and 3 air conditioning units on it!) having said that the room... More

We stayed here in a "relax" room in the hotel's second building for three nights. The room had no view other than over roof tops but it was peaceful, clean and well furnished. The bathroom was almost the same size as the room with a huge "Jacuzzi" whirlpool bath and separate shower cubicle with massage sprays. There was a small... More

Just spent three nights at this delightful family-owned hotel, which is an excellent place from which to visit the Valley of Noto during the day and to relax in the evening. Beautiful and stylish rooms, everything spotlessly clean, and very friendly and obliging staff. Good restaurant and also a trattoria attached to the hotel, also excellent recommendations from reception about... More
