Macerata is a very nice quasi-mediaval town in which you may find perfect museums and great food. There are several vegetarian restaurants and all serve very nice local wines. Albergo (hotel) Arena is probably the best hotel in town. It is only3 minutes walk to the heart of town and located just near the old Arena Sferisterio. Rooms are xlean and... More

We stayed here for three nights while attending the Sferisterio. The hotel is small, but has everything, Wifi, air conditioning, mini bar fridge in the room, reasonable breakfast, small bar and outside sitting area. It is ideally situated for walking into town and the Sferisterio, but despite its central location it is very quiet. The staff were really helpful and... More

Small single room, but clean and cozy. Staff is friendly and responsive, most speak some English. Nice breakfast offering (small charge for breakfast). Great location, inside the ancient part of the city.

Albergo Arena is a simple, clean and nice hotel with staff who would go miles to help their customers! We were positively surprised by the staff : When we had difficulties finding local transportation, both before checking in and after checking out of the hotel, the staff accompanied us with their hotel car (with a reasonable charge). I would not... More

I have been staying here regularly for 15 years for work reasons. Though the rooms are small they are very good value, the breakfast with newspapers to read - is excellent. Georgio, and the others who work in the hotel are all willing to do everything they can to make you feel at home.

There are many hotels near the historic centre of Macerata. But if you drive past them and into the "centro storico", it is well worth the trouble of having to cope with narrow and steep streets. Just drive slowly and follow the road signs to the hotel. And then you find a nice front court where the car can be... More

I stayed here on a trip organised by Travel Editions, so did not personally book this hotel. The quality of accommodation varied considerably from room to room - my own was in middle range, very small with extremely 'tired' and dated decor. Website detailed all rooms as having in room safes, but mine and many others did not. Manager advised... More

We stayed five nights with a special interest group. The hotel is well tucked away, and we would have had trouble finding the place if left to our own devices. But well worth seeking out if you enjoy a small hotel with friendly service. The staff are very helpful and do everything they can to ensure you have a pleasant... More

This hotel is just inside the old town, very close to churches, museums, palazzi, and the main piazza. The welcome was warm, and service pleasant throughout my stay, with happy, smiling staff. Opposite the lobby is a small bar area. My first floor room was compact, but comfortable, and somewhat old-fashioned. I'm glad I paid a little extra for a... More
