My Italian friends were a little snobbish about us travelling up to the lakes area outside Rome, they prefer the beach and thought that we would be staying in the type of hotel that just churns out wedding receptions all summer.
They were wrong and I was pleased we went for a few days as it was so relaxing.
There is an equestrian centre and although we didn't go riding the facilities looked good and the horses well kept and content.
The food was excellent and we ate in the restaurant both nights as I find it preferable to the drinking and pointing the car up the hill option (the hotel is a mile or so from the lake and a few miles from the nearest town and of course there are no street lights).
They make their own cheese on the site, which was delicious.
I had a lymphatic massage which was wonderful and I'd recommend. Other than that we relaxed by the pool and chilled out...there isn't an awful lot to do unless you want to head out...
