This Hotel is wonderful, the staff are friendly and the breakfasts delightful, however over and above that I left an expensive diamond necklace in the bedroom and it was returned immediately to me without charge. This was a sentimental piece of jewelry and I was thrilled with their expediency and 'no fuss' attitude in returning it to me back in... More

We stayed here for 5 delightful days! It sits high in the hills of Alps Haute en Provençe, outside an adorable village of Forcalquier. It was a wild drive on N900 from Avignon to here, so gorgeous, so narrow, so worth it to get to this wonderful hotel! After sightseeing each day, it was such a pleasure to come back... More

We met up with friends at this lovely hotel in deepest Provence. I am currently on crutches and we have our black lab with us too, and they were incredibly helpful in sorting out a room that would suit all our needs. Some things that might be a disadvantage are also an advantage - the lack of restaurant means the... More

This place is a real find - it's location is unique and we could imagine what it must have been living in a Roman villa, overlooking the golden fields and distant blue mountains. The staff are lovely, and breakfast on the terrace is simply perfect. This is mythical Provence as it's raved about in the books and rarely found. It... More

It is sad when an American mother has to write about the cliche of mean French people. I speak French, and have worked with French people for over 10 years--but the people who run this hotel are just downright rude and ignorant. I see there are positive comments about this place, but my guess is the reviews are mostly by... More

We could not have enjoyed our stay more! The guesthouse is in a tranquil setting with stunning views, and very welcoming hosts. When we first arrived, we had two rooms that were both the same price but one was considerably better than the other (avoid Room 6), but we were soon moved to one of the most lovely suites I... More

Previous contributors have encapsuated everything I could say about this lovely place. But just a couple of things to note if you are thinking of going and haven't been before. You do need a car as Charembeau is out in the countryside with no public transport close by to speak of and there is no restaurant for evening meals. You... More

The Charembeau was outstanding - and to date, probably the best place we've stayed on our trip to France. As a previous reviewer has noted, the 10E breakfasts are well worth it. It was divine to sit in the morning sun enjoying a hearty breakfast made with local produce. It is a little way out of town but in the... More

What an amazing spot and lovely hotel. We stayed three nights in August with our teenage son. We wish we could have stayed forever. The hotel is beautiful with well kept grounds, an amazing pool, volleyball, table tennis, beautiful interior spaces to just sit and relax. Breakfast ( 10 Euro/person) is well worth it , served on a lovely outdoor... More
