This is a superb hotel with wonderful views. Our room was large and had a balcony and decking for sitting out. The bed was huge and comfortable. The bathroom large with bath and shower too, fluffy towels, replaced daily and courtesy robes and slippers!! The food is worthy of the Michelin star and we ate so well!! We did find... More

When we booked directly with the hotel in January we reserved a large room with twin terraces overlooking the sea (we had read earlier reviews warning that there could be a smell of seaweed, it was more like raw sewage and very unpleasant). The room was superb as was the bathroom. Also, when booking, we asked if the hotel had... More

This hotel has a great location and nice restaurant but our room was probably the smallest one in which I've ever stayed. Shower was so small, it was impossible to wash my feet. Some of the staff could have been more welcoming. Note to French hotels: some English channels on TV, such as CNBC or BBC, would be very much... More

We have been coming here for 6 years and have always thought it is superb but this year several things changed our mind. We felt disadvantaged by being resident. We were given a residents menu each night with no choice. As I am allergic to all seafood this is a problem and they seem reluctant to change the choice. We... More

Dinner bed and breakfast for two people Quiet un fussed and extremely professional service Superb food, in fact the place seems to be getting even better Not cheap, but bill was exactly as expected, an establishment like this one is never going to be cheap And nor should it!

We loved this hotel! The furnishings are fun and modern. The public rooms are spacious and have good views over the estuary. The decked area is perfect for a pre dinner drink. The dinner menu was interesting and very well executed. Certainly a meal to remember. We selected a room at the rear of the hotel which was both comfortable... More

This hotel, convenient to the car ferry to Ireland at Cherbourg has been in the ownership of the same family for nearly 160 years and they have got it just right. We stayed and dined there back in 2001 when the dinner was excellent and the rooms were more than adequate. Since then and as other seasoned reviewers have remarked,... More

I don't know the area that well but if ever one is in this region, it's well worth any sort of effort to sleep in this place. Situated in a quaint little town and the hotel itself sitting in an enclave along the French side of Channel the hotel is a haven. The rooms are spacious and well priced. Although... More

We stayed in The Marine Hotel in Oct 2010 and just revisited with friends for Sunday lunch in the restaurant, not staying this time. The standard was as high as before and we enjoyed a super meal. The 4 of us chose from the 55 Euro menu. A great experience. The semi formal atmosphere is maintained by very attentive and... More

We stayed at La Marine 8 years ago and it was an ok hotel with an excellent restaurant. It has been completely refurbished and is now an excellent hotel and the restaurant is as good as ever. The refurbishment is in an art-deco style and one would not be surprised to see Hercule Poirot walking about. Even though we had... More
