This hotel could also be lacated in either Scandinavia or Long Island New York, as it is really cosy with scandinavian/new american interior in white. Great breakfast and restaurant and very kind staff. The beach is just in front of the hotel and if wheather is bad or water is low, you can always enjoy the nice pool area. A... More

We have stayed at 2 Logis d'Exception in France and were so looking forward to staying at Hotel des Isles. A friendly welcome greeted us, and the hotel was across the road from the lovely beach But room 302 on the top floor was very small and disappointing as you had to skirt around the bed sideways a rather tricky... Just back from a three night stay at this lovely hotel. Very friendly welcome and charming and helpful staff throughout our stay. The room had a spacious balcony, in fact a long balcony serving about 6 rooms, overlooking the sea. The room was airy and light and the bathroom neat and big enough! The food was such good value. We found respite here after 2 weeks of tent camping. The service was superb from all areas of staff and the location is great- on the beach! Our room was nice, but needed a lick of paint (but who cares when you are watching the sunset over the beach/ocean. Bathroom was v nice. Food was good and they have a... More

Comfortable without being luxurious, our room overlooked the ocean. The hotel's dinner buffet was a lavish display of fish and seafood, and the breakfast buffet was more than adequate. All the public rooms are inviting, and the staff was welcoming.

We spent our last night of 22 nights touring France in July 2102 - in generally poor weather. We arrived in Barneville-Carteret in torrential rain which did not help, and the whole place just seemed like a wet British seaside town. We paid 175 euros for a double room with sea view which was very expensive for what we got.... More

We chose Des Idles as an overnight stop on our return journey via Cherbourg. On arrival, we were amazed by the location. Right on the beach, overlooking Jersey. It was a perfect evening to sit and have a drink on the terrace at the front of the hotel. Parking was on the street which is ample. We checked in and... More

This hotel is beautifully situated overlooking the sea with a long sandy beach. The food is delicious, the decor very smart, but not uncomfortably so, and the rooms are fully equipped with all you need and with very comfortable beds, all with a view of the sea. The staff are very welcoming to all ages, and the 'ambiance' is perfect... More

This hotel/restaurant is in a great spot overlooking a lovely beach but I thought the food over-priced and over-seasoned. We weren't staying at the hotel so I didn't see the rooms but I could see that the pool was miniscule. Nice decor, if a bit too "Elle decoration".
