My husband & I have just returned from two nights here at the chateau. This was my first trip to France & what a beautiful trip it was. We had a car. Which took 15 mins from the airport. Just under 10 to the medieval town. The chateau was fantastic. Fabulous huge bedrooms. Ours over looked the pretty courtyard. The... More

We had a great stay here, the chateau is an amazing building to explore with hidden rooms and a spiral staircase. The rooms were large and spacious, and the hotel offered a range of facilities; a car park, swimming pool and great food. Although the food at first seemed expensive at 45 Euros it was cooked beautifully and the wine... More

I really enjoyed our stay at the Chateau, however since we did not have a car, we had to take a taxi to the Medieval Village of Carcasonne, which was quite expensive. This is a great place to rest and relax with a nice pool and charming furnishings and really large rooms.

I stayed in chateau de cavanac several years ago and I was so impressed that I recommended it to many friends who subsequently visited to stay at the hotel or dine in the restaurant. I finally had a chance to return and was very much looking forward to staying for 2 nights last week. What an incredible disappointment! A rude... More

As we started planning our trip, the main point we focused on was booking in a hotel next to a vineyard where it is quiet, nostalgic and out of this world. No fancy modern boring hotels. Chateau de Cavanac is exactly our match. What a lovely surprise. No disappointments too. We had a car, but they offer free parking. As... More

I had stayed at the Chateau de Cavanac twice before in 2002 and 2006 and it was great. I had booked a b&b in Trebes for this trip and when that didn't turn out as expected, I immediately thought of Chateau de Cavanac and called them. I was thrilled that they had a room for us. The rates had gone... More

The chateau has been lovingly renovated to tastefully blend old and new. All facilities are exceptional and the welcome is very warm. The evening meals on the terrace and the breakfasts in the beautiful decor and ambiance of the breakfast room are unparalleled. A superb hotel, where you can lose yourself in the grandeur and tranquility of this wonderful place!

We had a fantastic two night stay, enjoying the huge bedroom/bathroom, and the decor and old furniture around this rambling old chateau. This hotel would not suit someone wanting modern high tech perfection. There are creaky floors and a walk outside to get to the restaurant. The restaurant is a fantastic old stable conversion and the set meal very good,... More

Our room was large and traditionally furnished, with a four poster bed and a slight air of faded grandeur (in a nice way!), and we enjoyed pottering along corridors and through various interesting rooms and a pretty courtyard to get to the dining rooms. We ate supper there on 2 nights, once in the restaurant in the old stables, and... More

Not the cheapest place.......but comon' spoil yourself! Fixed price restaurant Euro 45, but all the wine is included and the food was excellent, really excellent. Rooms were grand but needed a some imagination. Pool good and generally a nice place to wander around. Give it a try!
