This place is basically a diver's refuge. I booked for a night and stayed there for a week or so, that should tell you something. My dorm was a 10 or 12 beds, some nights empty, some nights full, but very spacious with a VERY NICE bathroom inside. Yep, inside. Anyway, dorm is great, clean & safe (big lockers). They... More

There is nothing special about this place except for the fact that every backpacker comes here to do the Apo island dive tour - which I would highly recommend. For 250 pesos for a dorm bed (fyi - males are all separated from the females), you get a basic bed and shower and free breakfast. The bed is comfortable, nothing... More

People are very unpleasant, not smiling at all and service is super slow. I would not recommend to stay in this hostel (room & bathroom dirty, Air-Con not clean). Just going upstairs for checking your emails on the rooftop and that's it!!

We stayed here as a couple diver this june 2015 for 4d3n. The room is basic but very affordable. It is however untidy and found few spider webs from ceiling. The tiles in the toilet have turned blackish in color. Building is also not that good probably due its age (8+ years from what ive heard) - needs full restoration.... More

Harold's gets mixed reviews due to high expectations caused by the high ratings from backpackers and low ratings from family and couples. If you're a backpacker and don't care where you sleep, Harold's has offerings that will appeal to you such as the free oysters night and Apo Island dive/snorkel tour. Otherwise, don't go to this budget hotel. We went... More

As per a few other reviewers, no idea why this place is rated highly. I opted for a single room which as expected was basic but this was really really basic. Curtains that did not fit the windows and so thin they would not keep the light out from a 1W light bulb from across the road. Shared bathrooms. Yucks.... More

This place is high on the backpackers-to-stay list. Basic. Really cheap. No soap, Needed to exchange my passport for a towel. Noise from street side rooms horrendous. Trikes, bikes and karaoke. Rooftop eating was nice, Very cheap and if you order the right thing very tasty. Huge servings. The Apo Island trip organised by Harolds was an all time standout... More

Due our delayed flight, we had to stay at a very horrendous place before Harold mansion, especially the shared bathroom. So I decide to get a room with private bathroom this time. The pictures looked ok on the website. Basic amenities. Decent location, no expensive. Wen arrive the girls on receptions were very dry. The room was ok, but not... More

Stayed twice at this place. location at the heart of Dumaguete. Price is quite reasonable . Excellent for backpackers. If you are on a tight budget, harold is your place. This place is not recommended for couples but if you intend to explore dumaguete and stay outside the hotel, harold's will do.
