We stayed in The Beachouse for 7 nights sharing it with our teenage daughters. A hop skip and a jump through the palm trees and we were on our very own plaster of Paris white beach with an Indian Ocean Sea ,hot as an English bath! Paradise? Yes but a 5 star yes? No. We travelled to Dar overnight. A... more

I felt I had to share my experience with this hotel even though we did not make our trip to Zanzibar. We decided to cancel our trip after the island was hit with a power outage that continues for the last two weeks (it seems the last one in 2008 lasted for five weeks). We had we arranged to stay... more

It is normal hotel policy the world over that if a booking is cancelled with less than 2 weeks to arrival date, then the deposit to secure the room will not be returned. We could have let this room 6 times over and this is why deposits are kept. No-one else has cited the power issue as a reason for...

I stayed at the Echo Beach Hotel following my safari and could not have picked a better place to relax. The hotel and adjacent beach are completely unspoiled and look like something from a deserted island scene. The owners Sue and Andrew are very personable and as a solo traveler were great company at the bar after dinner. I spent... more

I'll just keep it simple. If you want a complete relax Echo Beach is the place. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent food (Andrew a one off!!!), superb snorkeling, (Mel a great help). This place is the "Mutt's Nuts"!!!!! (the best!) more

We have just returned from a fantastic 7 night stay at Echo Beach and I can honestly say we did not want to leave. I couldn't fault anything at Echo Beach. The ambiance was great - very relaxing, intimate, top location, the best food, and absolutely lovely hosts - Sue and Andrew. We are already talking about returning next year... more

great place to spend some real rest and relaxation time in Zanzibar, a great balance between informalilty and professionalism. Good food served by friendly staff. Plenty of advice on where to go if you fancy venturing elsewhere. more

This is my third stay at Echo Beach and I just can't stop going back. Having had a business trip to Nairobi this is the perfect antidote. Everything about it is perfect, from the discreet service, wonderful food, delectable interior design and fun and friendly staff. Then you get to the views, possibly one of the best stretches of beach... more

We went to Echo Beach Hotel after a safari in Kenya and absolutely loved this place. If you want to get away from the commercial hotel atmosphere, this is the place to be. We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived and received excellent service during our stay. Its the people who made the difference. Andrew,... more

After a safari and a Kili climb Echo beach was our three night relaxation at the beach and it fitted the bill perfectly. The rooms are in one or two storey mini apartments. These are well fitted out, roomy and comfortable. The salty water in the showers / basins is the only real downside. The location is near Bweju village... more

We were lucky enough to stay at Echo Beach for two whole weeks and, after a hectic few months of work and wedding planning, it lived up to our dreams of a romantic honeymoon in an exotic paradise. Echo Beach is very relaxing. The beach is idyllic and the view of the Indian Ocean changes each day according to the... more
