A beautiful location, lovely accommodation, superb food and great people. We booked for 2 nights initially, ended up staying 4, and were so sad to leave. It's low key, very stylish, smart but not swanky. This is now amongst our favourite places in the world - I'm sure we'll be back. (Will that do, Andrew?)

This small property (I think its about 8-10 rooms in all) is so well located on a quiet beach full of fine white sand and a lagoon full of warm sea water that they already have a head start on most places! Add to that some really good cooking, very friendly service, well maintained gardens and a nice pool and... More

Our own private paradise found at Echo Beach. Traveling with family , we had the place to ourselves and were each given our own bungalows. Andrew our host told us it would make it a real vacation after so many days on safari together. Loved his wry Britishness. Very quiet area free of beach hustlers. Andrew, the lovely and welcoming... This was the most perfect place to stay after being on safari. The setting was idyllic; relaxed, intimate, picture postcard perfect. The service from all the staff was fantastic for all four days of our stay - nothing false or over the top, just like being looked after by old friends. Our villa was wonderful - spacious and luxurious. We... More

First let me say a "warm thank You" to all those people who wrote reviews about this unique little hotel and based on those reviews, I am so happy that I went ahead and booked it a year before my trip. When I arrived at the hotel this past July on a windy Saturday night, I had the feeling that... More

We had a great time! After Safari in the Serengeti, being spoiled by Sue ( the owner) was most welcoming. From the white beaches to the fresh seafood gourmet dinning it was a real treat! Hospitality plus

Lovely, secluded beach hotel. Nice way to unwind after a Safari. Nice grounds, quiet Beach, nice rooms. Sue was an accommodating fun hostess and Andrew a gourmet chef. The food was excellent. They found out we were celebrating our 50th Anniversary, made us a lovely cake and sang Happy Anniversary. It was a lovely touch. We loved the massage and the sailing... More

Just returned from six days at Echo Beach Hotel. It was everything and more that we were looking for after a week on safari. The owners, Sue and Andrew are wonderful people. Andrew is a fabulous chef and host. We went into Stone Town with him one day, as he did his errands we visited a few places he suggested.... More

We ate twice at Echo Beach restaurant and those evenings will remain as great memories. There is no TV there, which is great 99% of the time, but as on that occasion we wanted to watch an all-important World Cup match the owners generously gave us their own living room. After the defeat we consoled ourselves with the food which... More

The hotel is relaxing, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food, however, is what distinguishes this hotel among its class. The food and drink are really good - so save room. Aside from the staff and the food/drink - the hotel is not luxurious, but is comfortable and adequate. I give this an overall very good instead... More
