The scenery was amazing and the rooms comfortable. While it was a little further down the beach, the owner would arrange rides and/or tours and scuba activities. Bicycle rentals for riding down the beach were easy to arrange as well. The owner was a consummate host and an excellent cook. The staff were friendly and professional.

Pakacha Bungalows in Bwejuu is the number 1 spot for an authentic Zanzibari meal with the freshest ingredients from the island. It is still one of those 'insider places', a secret spot for those who savor an authentic experience. Located right on the beach, the owner Ali has a prime spot on the south east coast. As part of the... More

We learned about Pakacha through another place in Bwejuu and booked it for a week without much information. The rooms were great, the food was delicious and the staff was excellent. We loved how open the property is to the town so you can really meet many of the local people. Ali, the owner, is extremely gracious. We had a... More

My family recently stayed on Bwejuu beach at a different accomodation. We enjoyed walking down the beach to find different places to eat. Once we found Pakacha Bungalows we returned 2 more times! The cook and owner, Ali, is very friendly and was happy to cook for us even though we weren't staying at his place. His prices were very... More

We stayed here for 1 night, because of a booking we made earlier in another guesthouse. If nog we would have stayed longer! The place is in the village, so you can see how life is on Zanzibar. There is a lot of shade, that is a good thing, sun can be really hot out there.. The owner, Ali is... More

We didn't stay here but ate here almost every day. Ali was incredible, he got us hooked on the mancala-like game we would play before the food was ready. Food took about an hour to get ready, but thats on par with anywhere in Africa, and the wait was ALWAYS well worth it. there's a reason we came back every... More

Nice and clean rooms, friendly staff and great food. Few cottages situated in palm tree grove at the beach; quiet place to stay.

I'v been living in Zanzibar for the last two months and Bwejuu is my number one favorite beach village. Pakacha Bungalows is a wonderful little place with amazing food, very friendly staff, and of course, beautiful beaches. It's quite cheap and fun, they'll pull beds down to the beach for you to lay on all day and they'll make a... More
