My wife and I spent the last three nights of our honeymoon here and absolutely loved it. Friendly staff, amazing lodging in the Monsoon Villa (we were upgraded!), and quiet vibe -just what we wanted! Thank you so much to Bianca and Becker for the amazing hospitality. My wife got badly sunburned on the second last day and Bianca went... More

we stayed one night after stooping at the hotel the day before for lunch. we had a great ocean view room. the food was good, excellent fish and the wine prices were reasonable. The infinity pool was fantastic with a great view and well maintained. The beach was similar to all the beaches on the east coast the tide went... More

My husband and I enjoyed our 6 night stay here. We had a lovely room which looked out onto the ocean and had its own decking area which gave us a scene of being the only people for miles. The room was cleaned ever day but did look and feel a little tired. Our shower room needed a little TLC... More

My husband and I spent two nights at the Shooting Star Lodge at the end of our 3 week vacation in Tanzania and we enjoyed every minute. The staff were friendly and helpful, always interested in talking with us and asking questions. Our room was beautiful, with an outdoor patio with seating. We particularly loved the food. Each morning, we... More

We had enjoyed amazing hotel accommodation during our first week on safari (4 different Serena/Sopa hotels) with excellent rooms/facilities, choice/standard of food and no 'tummy troubles'. We arrived at Shooting Star Lodge late in the afternoon looking forward to a relaxing beach holiday. We had to change rooms (which management facilitated without question) on arrival as there was no hot... More

My husband and I just stayed at the Shooting Star Lodge. First The good: rooms are comparable to a Motel 6 meaning they have the basics, the staff except for the owners/managers are nice and the food is okay. If you have children it seems like a great place for families because that is the majority of who was there.... More

For part of our honeymoon we spent 3 days here and it was a great place, very intimate, we spoke to the owner each day to say hi. Unfortunately the rest of the staff weren't quite as attentive, good and friendly but not at the level many other hotels are in the area. We stayed in a monsoon villa which... More

This lodge is a family-run paradise in the middle of the stunning coast of eastern Zanzibar. Food and service are both great, rooms are comfortable and well-decorated, the pool and beach areas are incredible. This is the perfect place to unwind after a non-stop safari vacation.

Stayed here for two nights in July with three kids. Wonderful accommodation, very spacious and really nicely laid out. The pool was fantastic and the beach close by after a short descend by steps. Staff were really helpful and welcoming food was great and it was good value. Lovely place, all round, very much recommend it.
