Recently stayed here with friends and my young son. We all had a ball. Great pool and watersports. The buffets at dinner were great and lunch at the beach bar was delicious. Staff friendly and our rooms were large and spacious and I certainly couldn't fault it. It's a good value for money hotel on a great beach and it... More

My December 2011 stay in Bluebay was just the best Christmas gift to the family. Our room was excellent and personalized service from the hotel staff in general. The beach is clean More

Our family had a wonderful week at Bluebay in the 2nd week of January 2012. The resort was clean and well maintained, the staff friendly and most were very efficient. The resort was busy but we never had the sense of being crowded. A business conference took place while we were there which had no impact on us. Our housekeeping... More

Blue Bay is a nice hotel, nice beach, nice gardens BUT it is flocked with tourists from Tour Operators from Europe (Jet Air, TUG, etc) and the service cannot cope with these BIG groups in the hotel. To be a real five star hotel, they should better look at the details. Rooms are nice but not top ones (and the... More

We have just come back from having our Wedding at the Bluebay followed by a Honeymoon in Tanzania. I cannot express enough how wonderful this resort is and how great all the staff were. Everyone was friendly and smiling and made us feel very welcome. When we arrived we received a warm and friendly greeting and the front desk manager... More

We had our honeymoon there from 11th to 15th September 2011 and may i say that it was the best time of our lives. Bluebay is relaxing, beautiful and refreshing. The service at Bluebay is superb and the food at Beyt al Chai , their sister hotel in stone town(btw a very romantic place)is the best we have ever tasted.... More

The room rates at Bluebay are less than at some other resorts, but still not cheap, but you will get whacked by the add-on costs. The laundry is very expensive (compared to other hotels in Tanzania). The drinks at meals are crazy expensive. Transportation out of the hotel is very expensive. If you are on half-board, the lunch is very... More

Had a wonderful stay in July 2011. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Tom (the beverage manager) was particularly helpful with making sure our large family always had a table ready and waiting, whether brekfaast, lunch or dinner. The setting was heavenly. The rooms were comfortable and cool., but no frills. The beds were enormous! The Masai security on the... More

I am an American living in Africa. I have learned not to expect much living in East Africa. BlueBay is very nice. The rooms are clean and spacious - bathrooms very good sized. Never had a problem with electricity or hot water, although the water is salt water. Garden room: our room was very very far from the water. The... More

We booked the Blue Bay Beach Resort for the last leg of our honeymoon to relax after 8 days roughing it on safari, we were greeted immediately on arrival and we were told we were being upgraded to a honeymoon / sea view suite, we were immediatly impressed with such a warm and positive welcome , little did we know...
